A Series Of Troubles

Day 344, 09:19 Published in USA USA by AidenAstrup

I have spent the past few weeks scouring the wiki and forums of the eRepublik in an attempt to learn even the most obscure details. Through my research I made special note about information that pertained to me, or that indirectly affected me ie. Alliances, trade, taxes, etc and became devastated. I will admit that running the eUSA is anything but easy for Congressmen and the President alike, but decisions on the most recent law proposals are beyond disgusting they are grotesque. Has anyone come to face the fact that hundreds of new citizens are appearing in the erepublik and a large number of those are starting out in the eUSA? First off the bat: the whole stream of "I'm leaving cus this game suxez now" needs to stop. New citizens go through a period in which the slightest actions they see can make them stay forever or leave for good. They need to see a caring community - I was delighted to see that within 48 hours a message was sent to me from a member of the community welcoming me and asking if I needed any help. There were however a few sad sights. The main problem: the Market Place is overflowing with offers, mostly in the food sector, and when delving into the company info one can discover that very few are at max productivity, and the ones that are have gone far above max productivity. I believe this problem is due to the fact that most citizens do not want to be employees, they want to run their own company and achieve the "American Dream". This should be encouraged, but for an economy to succeed, there must be enough workers to go around, and personally that does not seem true.

I don't think the minimum wage should be any higher than 4 USD, but the constant proposals for lowering and raising are not going to create a stable economy, plus the argument against a higher minimum wage is amazing. Why raise the minimum wage, the average worker gets $9. Well, average means there could be hundreds getting $1, and second if they are paying $9 then a $3 minimum wage won't hurt them. Also, I am not saying taxes are a problem ( I fully support the high import taxes on Moving Tickets), but mercantilism has never helped a country, it has only hurt economies. The government must regulate the market at this crucial moment in eRepubliks history. I support whatever will get the job done efficiently and in a timely matter.
