A Revolution of Spirit

Day 880, 18:29 Published in Canada Canada by Craig Norman

Men and Women of eCanada,

Has the darkness gripped us? Was the latest challenge too great? Have we become the nodding, the contented and the discouraged? Are we stopping now to die? Where is that lively spirit of ours? Who has buried it and why?

These questions are with us and of us. We are a nation weeping for relief from this dark age. We wish to be granted passage from this time of fear and worry. Why do we pretend as if our work is done? Who are we to decide such a thing? As long as there is an enemy to fight, a youth to educate, and a weak one to heal, we are not finished. Such is the beauty of our story. It’s never at an end and never shall be. So now, let us put aside the notions of a national death and go forth with renewed heart. Let us ponder now the formation of a new mantra to our broken and tiring politics. Let us work together.

From this moment, we should pledge to give all our being to this revolution of spirit. A movement must arise that replaces hate with love, intolerance with acceptance and fear with faith. Faith in one another and faith in the future of this land, whose marvels continue to comfort us. Let us pledge to do all that we can to ensure the formation of universities not only of books but of beliefs. Let us pledge to hold close our national resources and never let them go abroad. Let us pledge to the weaker nations of the world so that no people may be oppressed. Let us pledge to foster a leadership of courage where we do not simply elected our President but usher him in. Let us pledge to be charitable in our giving to those less fortunate. Let us committ to new works – monuments, hospitals and institutions – so that all citizens may enjoy their time here. Let us welcome the world here but stand on guard for our national well-being. Let us not pander or play as though we too were the little men of the old parties. Let us hope for a better world for ourselves and our children. Let us work towards that world and with action go forward.

We have been drained of hope in the current way and we must now break through the worries and embrace a new path. We have been drained of faith in the present and now must look to the future. We do so with optimism and enthusiasm. From this time of grief, when a people is dried of their soil and blood, let us light the flame of revolution. From the dark should come the light and from the light should come the way forward. We know that these hopes – the hopes for the land of the Northern Star – transcend one party, one leader or one time. They are always behind us urging and in front us beckoning. The ghostly millions cheer us on as we ponder the carrying of the radical placard. We will not fear becoming one for such a fate is the greatest in this game. Now we call a broken people to arms and rally them to hope.

The present will be broken and the future shall come at once.

Cheers,

Craig,
