A Response to the High Crime of Treason
Reiji Mitsurugi
「彼は大逆罪で島流しにされ 」
No doubt everyone has heard the latest news out of Jeollanam-do. A heretofore unknown man of unknown origins and unknown intentions has incited an insignificant percentage of that region's population to rebel against the Japanese government. A government, I remind everyone, which was willfully accepted as the rightful rulers of the Korean peninsula (south of the 38th Parallel), by an overwhelming majority in both popular and congressional vote.
The only recourse available to the people of our Jasko Confederation is a violent reaction to this violent uprising. Units of both the Imperial Guard and the Expeditionary Force have been dispatched, including my own Fire Team Delta under Staff Sergeant Minamoto, to the region. Already, too much blood has been shed on our once peaceful soil.
In response to this treasonous act, and in response to the terrible amount of bloodshed, the unacceptable amount of pain, and the unfathomable losses of the Korean people and their Japanese brethren, I will, with a heavy heart, resign my mobilization status in the Imperial Expeditionary Force. Consider this an official declaration that I, Reiji Mitsurugi, originally of Shikoku Island, will be a candidate for the Diet of Japan. Supported by the Imperial Sun Party, I am running as a candidate to represent the Korean people in the Diet. My hope is that with proper representation, by a congressman with their interests truly at heart, we can avoid such tragedies as the one taking place in Jeollanam-do today.
I have a deep connection with the people of Korea. Beyond the simple fact that my family farm, Kokumotsu Grains, operates on the peninsula, recent archeological evidence has suggested that the earliest Mitsurugis, dating back to the first century B.C., may have arrived in Kyushu from the Kingdom of Silla in southeast Korea. I also have a great appreciation for Korean art and music. During my business trips to the peninsula, I always make a point of enjoying a traditional tal'chum performance. It resonates with me in a way that Japanese dengaku does.
Korean culture is mystifying, as is its geography. But none of these things are as important to me as the Korean people. Koreans and Japanese are brothers in East Asia, and this resistance war was the exact sort of thing the Korean people had in mind when they came to Japan for protection. It is not only a contractual obligation to put an end to this war, but a moral imperative to ensure that it never happens again.
It is with that in mind that I will set out shortly for the peninsula. Keep your eyes peeled for the next issue of the Taishou, which will detail the platform of candidate Reiji Mitsurugi.

This is part where I tell you how great you are.
[Insert Flattery Here]
Make your voice heard. Make it sound proud. Make a difference.
A very nice congress candidature statement! I really should have seen it coming hahahaha. 😛
Another great article Reiji-san.
The supporters of this Resistance War say Japan threatens them with promises of allied assisstance that will calm rioting, reassure the innocent and annihilate the aggresor. However, what I want to say in response is: The ones insighting wars and fueling battles are the ones making the threats. They are the power-crazed individuals that cannot live together peacefully with other human beings. We, the Jasko Confederation, are merely trying to deter such actions for the benefit of all; we do not threaten.
Reiji-san, Delta will be saddened to see you fold up and pack away your uniform; you were an honourable soldier that inspired many.
Just as you showed great dedication during our first coordinated infiltration operation (which required you to be up at 3am and have your wits about you), the dedication you will show as a congressman is sure to inspire.

I am commenting, claiming that Japan is torturing and abusing the South Korean provinces and people.
@ Kim Jong Rad
South Koreans dont support you and never will. They want their freedom when they are ready. They dont want their country ran by goons like yourself.
So says "Deej" with an Imperialist flag in his avatar.
Kim Jong Rad, incase you don't know, that's also the flag of the Japanese navy.
An imperialist organization if ever there was one.
For the record, let me say that Reiji Mitsurugi, the Imperial Sun Party, the Imperial Japanese Army, and a number of other things, people and organizations that have references to "empire" in the name, are strictly anti-imperialist.
Thank you.
Typical eJapanese doublespeak and trickery.
@ Kimmy
It is ammusing how you call the most unimperialistic nation in eWorld imperialistic. I have no idea how you call us imperialists we are always fighting imperialism, we faught sweden and poland. Both imperial countries. And ya the flag is just another verison of the japanese flag. Pretty much everything has imperial in some form in japan because it is a part of japanese culture. Just like the United Kingdom they have a king and queen just like japan has a emperor and emperess. But it is not an empire. Thought i would just explain things to you.
You know what else is imperialistic about eJapan? Its empire that includes all of south Korea.
The South Koreans are voluntary partners in a merger with Japan. As the Taishou here explains, we Japanese are sworn to protect our Korean brothers from foreign powers that would seek to tear her apart. Foreign powers like those in Greater (I use the term loosely) Korea.
The strength of a united Japan and South Korea is unquestionable. We are invincible, and there is nothing you can do from your armchair in China to stop that. The Imperial Army proved it earlier today. The Republic of Korea is happy and safe in the loving embrace of Brother Japan.
You speak well the words of an oppressive dictator desperately trying to hide his crimes from the world.
And you speak the words of a rabid nationalist, willing to cut down anything in his path to glorious revolution.
Reiji apprently your a dictator ahah and Kimmy you sound like a person that belongs in a padded room. I fyou would like I will get the evil imperialistic JIA take you there.
I would rather be a benevolent dictator than a murderous revolutionary.
And I would rather be dead than submit to the rule of the Japanese.
Then you need not fear the Reaper's grip, Mr. Kim, because the Empire would rather die a thousand deaths than see you one of her citizens. If you honestly believe Japan has an interest in conquering your cherry orchard, or whatever noble profession you claim, you are sadly mistaken and full of paranoid delusions. Delusions, as well, of grandeur that you are so great that Japan should want you.
The Japanese citizen is a proud man, a polite man, a man of culture and reading. He is an international man. A businessman. The English word "tycoon" has its origins in Japan as 大君. You are nothing that a Japanese man should be. Our Empire is strictly anti-imperialist, but even if it wasn't, we would have no designs on you or your tainted property.
Then release South Korea from your rule and prove there is honesty left in Japan.
Such an act would be wholly dishonest. The Korean people paid a considerable price during the merger. The transfer of all the provinces of South Korea to Japanese rule cost a significant sum of gold, not to mention the income and tax revenue that has been earned by Japan and Japanese citizens following the pact.
These benefits came to Japan and these prices were paid by the Korean people with the understanding that Japan would protect her from foreign and domestic harm. If we, the Japanese people, surrendered Korea to you or to anyone, we would be breaking that promise, and cheating the Korean people on a grand scale.
And, as a man of honor, I cannot let that happen.
The only price being paid is by those people that love freedom and despise Japan.
Your in china you dont have submit to japanese rule.
Well said Reiji and Kim nobody despises japan but you. Japan is respected in eWorld and everybody else knows japan is not imperialist. If we were so imperialist we would say we are going to keep SK forever and invade NK. But no we want to release SK. And when it is released it will be stronger then ever more citizens, Q5 hospital, and a MPP with japan.
Thanks Deej, you do an excellent job regurgitating lies the world has heard 1,000 times before.
The world is one japans side. Nobody believes these beliefs you and some other people believe in. Their is no revolution and i have no idea why you are trying to impeach a president that does a really good job. In the end revolution accomplishes nothing.
The only price being paid is gold and taxes, and it's being paid by those in our borders who love freedom, hate freedom, love Japan and hate Japan. We of course have citizens of many diverse opinions, but they are all legally obligated to pay taxes.
But I think you grossly overestimate the percentage of the population that opposes Japanese policies. Mr. Kim, I don't think there is a single sentence you have said with which I can agree, but I consider you a worthy opponent and I respect your right to voice your opinions.
The right to free speech is guaranteed by the Japanese government, of course.
I am commenting, claiming that Japan is torturing and abusing the South Korean provinces and people.
We're not trying to rule you. Why do you thnk that?
Paranoia?
KimJR, you sound more imperlialistic than anyone here. You're the one trying to stir things, trying to fuel a war for no good reason. It's selfish.
Good luck. 😁
Japan does provide its citizens a higher standard of living than most other countries and we are happy to share it with those who share our aims. There will always be those who oppose this for their own selfish reasons, and we will not submit to them.
