A quick look back

Day 456, 06:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar

I thought I should write an article just to explain what I've achieved in the North West in my term which is fast approaching an end.

Firstly, I have thoroughly enjoyed the term I have been given, and I have been very active, both with the Manchester City Council, the forums and getting the North West out in the newspapers. I have been writing a lot of articles for the Council recently and, although the active population of the region is not what I would have hoped, I would certainly like to think that I've helped people to move and settle in.

Setting myself the target of getting an active community was, perhaps, biting off more than I can chew, however with the Council now set up and in full swing and the elections and various events coming up I hope that it will improve somewhat.

I've mentioned the Council a few times, and so I'd like to quickly explain one or two things that I hope I'll try to implement.

The first being, as you've probably read about, the house competition. There are currently seven citizens of the North West who are on the list, with the raffle being drawn on Friday. While this is not exactly an ideal number of people to participate in a competition, I'm glad that I've managed to be able to get our news out into the public and for those seven to message the Council. The money used to buy the house from the Department for Work was supplied by my Congress allowance, which now has half of the funds remaining, which I will use to supply other competitions and events. None of the money I have received throughout this term has been or will be used for myself.

The second is something I mentioned briefly in a Council article, which I will now explain properly:

Due to the massive strain on the London NHS and the need for migration to other regions, I'd like to start a scheme whereby those who are unsure about moving or are thinking of it can move to the North West (if they reside in London, then for free) and, when they've stayed for 7 days, if they are not satisfied for whatever reason, I will personally refund the cost of the moving ticket. All that would be needed to get this refund would just be a quick explanation as to why you don't like living in the North West.

So you can think of it as a holiday, where if you like it you stay, and if you don't you get your money back.

Anyway, more importantly, the Council is working very well at getting citizens up to high wellness and improving the lives of new citizens, which is fantastic, so I thank my fellow Directors for doing a brilliant job. We really are trying our very best to make the North West a better place to live.

So, with most things covered, I'd like to remind you that your vote reflects entirely on where your confidence lies both for the candidate and how well the candidate can represent your region. I will put myself forward for the North West election again for another term, and it will be entirely your choice if you feel confident with me representing you.

A full and proper manifesto will be released soon.

Thank you,
Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar
North West MP and Director of Information for the Manchester City Council.
