A Quick Aside When it Comes to Accountability

Day 568, 22:03 Published in Canada Canada by Jacobi

On Friday I will be addressing the media in a press conference, as well as releasing a weekly report called "Canada, Today." It will be a fun filled night for me, I'm sure....but important for people to have the information they need to make informed decisions.

Now, my friend Keldire has criticized the size of my cabinet as a possible security risk. I do not see this as being the case.

First let me repeat what I said in the comments of his article.

"I admit to mistakes, I could have handled the Marchelala/Leto mia thing better, sure. I am happy the mistake I made was so minimal that I can learn from it with no damage done.

I am extraordinarily happy with my cabinet, from Scorpius to ElDorino, to Marchelala, to Emilio, to Adasko, I'm really quite happy.

I'm happy because I've got a group of dedicated and intelligent people doing their best to make our country better. I wish people had a better view to see all the valued help that I'm getting from Kelly Mahoney and Duke Leto. Even from Ambassadors like Volsung and Fram, its amazing!"

And I do mean that. Canadians ought to know that there cabinet is filled with people old and new who are so committed to moving Canada in a new direction. The support I get is indescribable.

But to address the main point of Keldire's article about how having so many people in cabinet could be a disaster, I go back to my main point about accountability.

Firstly, despite the size of cabinet, 95% of Canada's funds are in the hands of 5 people. They are myself, Kelly Mahoney, Rowlock, Moffington and Derakor. If there are to be any disasters in this administration there will be no deputies to point the finger at. No grandmothers to take the blame.

Five of us are responsible, five of us are accountable. If any money is misplaced as it was so many times in the previous administration, you will know who is at fault.

So if I have someone dedicated to bringing government announcements into the french language, I think that's good. If I have an experienced Minister dedicated to the creation of a new alliance, if I have an Attorney General who has done an excellent job as a legal advisor, if I have Minister of Finance that I have known for over a decade, I think that's a good thing for me and a good thing for Canada.

No matter how many of them there are, however, there's simply one and only bottom line. As Prime Minister, I am accountable for my cabinet, I trust them in their jobs, and I know what I'm doing.
