A public condemnation of eItaly's selective humanity
Ciric Nemanja
Greetings, I am the owner of CasaBalkanica an Italian Q3 housing company based in Italy, subsidiary of Ćirić Industries.
The market has been really good to me, and other owners of housing companies. A Q3 house sells at 20+ gold for a 150-300% profit rate, making me extremely rich very fast. I don't deal in the black market even though I could make an additional gold per house by not paying the taxes. For every second house I sell, I take the money out using the collect button, to pay the taxes for it. I could pay taxes for every house, but I could pay no taxes and deal in the black market. I work this way becase I make a lot of money, and I give a sizeble contribution to the Italian government. It's a win-win situation.
And let me assure you, the current economic crisis in the housing sector has been REALLY good to the government of eItaly. I used to make a Q3 house every 2nd day, now it takes me 3 days. With current prices, it's about 0.1g worth of taxes every day, just from the WAT. They get an additional 2 gold from what I collect from my company on every 4th day. They get roughly 0.3 gold in taxes on my worker's wages every day. If you sum it up, I generate ~1 gold of taxes every single day for eItaly's budget.
And my operations are still limited. I bought this company a year ago and it hadn't worked for months. It accumulated 17 dead workers who didn't know how to quit. When I upgraded it to Q3 and restarted it, it wasn't profitable to me to make a Q3 house every day, so I only took 3 additional workers and kept the dead people. I made a Q3 house every 4th day, and sold it for ~9 gold, and the wages were much lower, and only for 3 people. I generate up to 4 times the taxes I used to generate, owing to the housing market boom. There are other companies, and believe you me, we generate a lot of taxes.
So what does eItaly do with our tax money?
It discriminates against the very companies that generate the most taxes! Having one of my workers leave for a couple of days on millitary matters, I was forced to replace him asap to keep my productivity up. I opened a skill 0 job for 4ITL since those jobs get taken the fastest (it's double what manufacture and land companies offer). A skill 1.75 worker applied (I had no skill 1 or 2 jobs opened), with only 44 wellness. I raise his salary to 5.5 ITL, and instruct him to seek help from the Italian Welfare Organisation. Becuase I wasn't sure of his english and weather he understood me, I sent an IGM to this organisation myself on his behalf, explaining the situation and guaranteeing a 15 ITL salary in 5 days time (when he reaches 90+ wellness).
I could have just kept exploiting him with the 4 ITL pay, watch his wellness deteriorate and not give a damn. But I wanted to help him and offer him a wage with which he can sustain himself in a Q3 company (15 ITL buys you Q2 food, and 3xQ1 gifts in Italy, with 1-2 ITL to spare). It's a lot smaller profit margin then my other workers get, but hey, I thought it would be nice not to ruin the guy and his wellness. Silly me, I thought that he can have a sustainable pay and I could have a profit at the same time. Then, the Italian Welfare Organisation let me know just how silly I am.
They informed me that as a matter of policy they DO NOT help people working in Q3 companies or better, and instructed me to fire him so he can go to a Q1 company so they can heal him!? Having lots of experience in governmental affairs, I understand that it's counterproductive to heal someone who will just end up needing more healing because he has insufficient wages to maintain his wellness. But I fully expect that when I give them a formula for how I will calculate his wages, and GUARANTEE that he'll have an adequate wage for this company quality; that I be taken seriously and they help the guy out. If nothing else, they can instruct him to quit his job if I don't raise his wages.
But no, the government of eItaly doesn't want my worker to be able to sustain himself. They don't want him to have a 15 ITL pay and they don't want to collect 2.25 ITL of taxes from it. They don't want to spend 2,6 gold out of the 3 gold I generated with taxes in the past three days to heal this guy with 10 gifts five days in a row. They want him to work for 5.5 ITL with me, and have less and less wellness every day. The other alteranative is for them to pay 2.6g to heal him so he can go to work for my competitor with a Q1 or Q2 for 3 ITL per day, and again, lose at least 1 wellness per day. To top it all off, the guy didn't do anything wrong.
If the developers had a clue, they would start new players with 100w at least a week before introducing the new hospital rules. Instead they just went ahead with both changes at the same time, leaving thousands of eBabies in wellness limbo. It is exactly these people that the governmental welfare and humanitarian companies are supposed to help out. It is exactly these kinds of services my tax contributions are meant to be used for. Instead, help is conditioned with the player having to have to work for comparatively lower wages or at a company that contributes less to the budget that finances the program in the first place.
This kind of shortsighted thinking is both deplorably inhumane and woefully uneconomical.

Cool story bro
Unfortunatly, this game and the ones who play it, is full of holes, without any understanding from the ones who simply need to be more understanding if we are to create a better eWorld. We are witnesses to a lot of short-minded thinking, variuous cheating and trying to hold on to an ePolitics/eBusiness chairs etc. I'm sorry for your situation, and I hope you'll make it work somehow, so here's my voice and support.
omg 😮
"They informed me that as a matter of policy they DO NOT help people working in Q3 companies or better, and instructed me to fire him so he can go to a Q1 company so they can heal him!?"
I know but Welfare Department always suggest newbies to work in Q1 companies or often in the Universities (national companies) which gift and heal the employees until they reach a good level of wellness and at least at skill level 2.
Maybe there was a misunderstanding, I hope that the Welfare will change policy or just make an exception for your case.
omg 😮 x2
I perfectly undertand the reasoning behind the policy, but it's too exclusive. Yes, on average it is better to work in a low quality company when you start, but this guy is already skill 2 (having worked today) and as I've sai😛 I guarantee a sustainable wage for him.
If nothing else the situation will be resolved by me paying less taxes and healing him myself, nothing easier. But this is NOT the way things are supposed to work.
BIG VOTE!!! 😃
i, da... umalo da zaboravim...

Boiottimiamo le aziende estere lol!
Foreign companies? I opened a company in Italy, I upgraded it to Q3, I employ people in Italy, I sell products in Italy, I pay taxes to Italy. While Industrija Ćirić is Serbian, Casa Balkanica is, was and always will be Italian.
Thinking before posting doesn't hurt you know.
i produce 1 q5 house daily, i pay 1200-1300 itl on salary daily
i spend some 2-3 gold daily on gift, what's the problem? it's worthy in any case as prices are crazy now
working in a company that is not a q1 is not good for a newby..
p.s what you pay on salary i pay on income tax XD
You have 19 active workers, I have 8. My best worker has 9.8 skill, you have 11 workers stronger than that. You have a Q5 company and I have a Q3, you have to pay at least 20% more then I do. If we were paying the same wages with these vastly different circumstances, that would mean I'm doing something very very wrong.
I gift my employees as well. If you take a look at his work history, you'll see that Samir Nasri came with 45 wellness to me as well. I spent 2.6 gold on healing him to this state (feel free to ask him), because I know the Welfare Agency doesn't help level 19 guys, and because he is productive enough to be worth it.
But a skill 1.75 guy is not worth spending 2.6 gold to me, and even less so to a Q1 or Q2 company. That's why we have the government, to heal babies. There's nothing wrong for a low skilled player working in a higher Q firm, providing he has a good enough salary to keep his wellness up. I guaranteed this in TWO messages to the Italian Welfare Agency, yet they refuse to help. It's not like he they can't tell him to quit if his wage is too low.
In the end, I will end up gifting him myself, because I'm angry as hell at this "agency" and I feel sorry for the guy. They're asking that he works for 2 ITL per day in a Q1 company and lose 0.8 wellness per day so that they help him, which is just sad.
But I'll be damned if I ever use the "Collect" button in Casa Balkanica again.
Typical Italian - people with very low skills work in high quality companies and the Social Welfare should even pay to fill their lacks?? A newbie must suffer, it's the only way to become a man.
Man, if you don't understand English, don't comment, you just look silly. I ask that they lift him from 44 to 94, and he'll have enough pay to maintain it. It's a HELL of a lot better, then working for you for 3-4 ITL per day.
I don't get it, after I give you the courtesy of writing in English because I did assume you do not speak the Language of the Country you own a Company in - you tell me that I look silly and ask me not to comment if I don't understand English? Yes, I am confused... I am not sure if it was for your diplomatic skills that you gained so much popularity - or for your Robert De Niro look. I bet a penny on both. In any case, good look with the Welfare, I really hope they will just keep what they are doing.
🙂
Cannot comment in a public newspaper article.
We had a long discussion.
The player who had to be helped is now in our welfare list: we are helping him (he's eItalian and he has less than 65 wellness points).
superpimpo
Minister of eItalian Welfare
Peiersilvio, you clearly either misunderstood what I wrote or made a horrible mistake in translating your comment into English, which defeats the purpose of your "courtesy".
I choose to write in English because it's the only language I use flawlessly that you have a chance of understanding. While I prefer English answers from people who are able to use it properly, I much rather use Google translate and my knowledge of Latin for Romanic languages for people who don't.
And I don't know what your definition of "diplomacy" is, but mine is the clever use of language, tone and tact to not only convey your thoughts, but to do it in such a way that it furthers your goals. Diplomacy is not just being friendly and warm, it's also knowing when not to be it.
And having people say nonsense after you spent a considerable time explaining your position is as an appropriate situation as any.
so send them 2 gift daily in order to balance the wellness loss of a q3 company and, if the skill is worthy enought, then keep them and fire if not, do not mind what welfare says 😛
this should be the ''standar'' for company AS for workers
btw WE NEED WORKERS 🙂
piersilvio
Ciric Nemanja I am really sorry for what is happening, you seem a very good and smart person and it would be a pity to ruin the relationship with our country for something that could be recognizable only as a fault of our welfare system and, nevertheless, you have also proposed how to fix it and how to spend less to gain more.
We have to be grateful to you and instead you have been treated this way. So bad...
italians.... as ignorant in RealLife as they can be in eR... and it's true, they are mostly racist, close-minded, can't get a word of english even if they can monkey after every stupid english pop song, no grasp over tax dynamics and international way of cooperation... let me -uselessly- apologise for this bunch of sheeps.... otherwise, how could they like their prime minister?!?!? italy (and eItaly) is on the edge of the disaster unless they wake up very quickly (since, after all, they're all quite good at heart, but just missed the last 50 years of history...)
Insultare tutta l'Italia è molto maturo invece.
mi fate un sunto in italiano non ho voglio di applicarmi a trdurre send me u.u
As the owner of two Manufacturing companies based in Italy (well, most of the time Veneto's Italian), I was expecting an article decrying Italy's comparatively low wages. I've based my companies here for a combination of four reasons - the Income tax structure is very favorable to business; the ITL is a stable, low-value currency; real wages (in G) are low; and Italy itself has a critical mass of a few thousand citizens - enough to fill jobs, but not enough to be an economic center. I was surprised to see your article on high taxes - I was unaware they had risen, since my companies aren't terribly active - but don't understand your surprise that a government organization would function like a real-life beauracracy - their policies have been thought through and have a purpose, even if it is non-apparent. Obviously, policies can only go so far, but in the policy's defense, it does cost 90G to even make a Q3 company - probably my Org's total worth if I could liquidate at cost - and there's not a great deal of competition at that level. So, there's my $0.02, though I'm not sure if it's in USD or ITL. 😉
