A Pledge

Day 2,077, 21:21 Published in India USA by Octavius Dryst

Hello eIndia,
This is probably going to seem silly to some of you, but I am taking it fairly seriously. I would like to issue forth a promise to you, in good faith. I intend to do well.

4 days ago I was elected to congress. This will be my 18 month as an elected representative of the people. Probably close to 12 of those 18 months were spent in the service of eIreland Those were good times, for the most part. Times when I was genuinely excited about the GAME itself. That excitement has long since passed, but I still hold a burning candle for the PEOPLE of this game. Despite lacking the luster of the traditional Ireland vs. the UK conflict, I have twice over come to love and adopt eIndia as my home, my refuge, my point of ePride.

Orange, White, and Green are proud colors to fly, be they Irish, or Indian. I am proud to represent so many of my friends and comrades in government. I pledge to take this job seriously. And I do not speak to build my own image, I know the will of one congressman can often change very little, if only from experience. I do however to pledge dedication and at least the effort to make positive change. I have a multitude of ideas that I would like to present for discussion, ranging from potential tax reform, our international standing, and ideas to bolster our already vibrant sense of community and friendship. (this will include trolling, so do not fret Yuuva multis, ICP blow hards, DP doops, FB Commie SOB'S, and IF oafs, you will all get your chance to prove which party is really the best, despite an inherent similarity of actual goals for the country 😛

I am also trying to set up a CP candidate debate, but I have only heard back from one candidate. I am waiting on the other(s) (is Yuuva running a candidate?) Hopefully you all can encourage people to come forward and commit so we can hear their ideas in real time.

I know many of you still probably hold me in disregard, but I care, genuinely so. I cannot commit insane hours to the game, I am far too busy with a 50-60 hour a week work schedule, and being in the midst of attempting to build a romantic relationship, though she knows all too well about the lot of you, but I can commit to give an effort, and see what I can do with my few odd hours every day.

I hope I will not let you down, and at the very least, simply remember, that I am not the dark center of the universe.

I hope that you have enjoyed the read,
Respectfully,
Octavius Dryst
