A New Mayor For Austin: Part II

Day 300, 15:14 Published in USA USA by NoneSuch

Most of my ideas for this upcoming mayoral election were posted in my previous article, so if something seems amiss in this one you may want to check the other one out. The purpose of this second article is to expand a little bit more on my plan of taxation if I am elected.

As said before, I plan on keeping company taxes and housing taxes for the state at the absolute minimum. Some of you may not like the idea of a housing tax at all and that is going to hurt me in the polls. Hate me for it or not, but with V1 coming out and Mexico declaring war on Spain, we may need the state may need the funds.

With V1 on the horizon new features may be available for states other than buying hospitals. I would love it if Austin was one of the first regions to own one of these new features. And as for Mexico, if the time comes and us Texans have to defend the Alamo again, we’ll be ready for them this time.

If nothing happens though and the state doesn’t need the funds, I’ll do one of three things depending on what the people want.

1) Return the money to the people of Texas
2) Keep the money in the state treasury
3) Buy Nevada

Just imagine having Texas gun laws in Vegas.

But seriously, this is my policy on taxes and I’m just trying to be honest with you guys. Should none of this appeal to you then vote for FX. He is the only other publicly announced mayoral candidate for Austin that I know of and would be the one to vote for if you don’t like the idea of a housing tax.

That’s all for me. Remember to vote this Saturday and thank you for your time.
