A Moment to Reflect

Day 661, 11:38 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

As everyone in the world knows today marks 8 years since 9/11. The 20th century had several events that for better or worse shaped and defined it. The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the rise of communism, the Stock Market crash of '29, Hitler's rise to power, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the splitting of the atom, the assassination of JFK, landing on the moon, etc.

Like it or not 9/11 may have been the first such defining event of this century. The impact that it had on this country and the world may take decades to fully see. I am not however writing this article to focus on that, politics, religion, or even vengeance. To do so in my view would be a disservice, and disrespectful to the people who lost their lives that day. They were not soldiers, they were not victims of a natural disaster, they committed no sin or misdeed other than to go to work on a tuesday morning, board a plane to travel, or try to save those trapped in the wreckage. They were mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, sons, and daughters. They were Americans.

Let us take a moment to reflect and honor those who died that day in a senseless act of violence. Let us send our thoughts and prayers to them and their loved ones. Today cannot be an easy day for anyone who was touched by the events of that fateful and awful day.

God bless those who lost thier lives. God bless their families. God Bless America.

We will never forget.
