A mi'at Thanks

Day 1,287, 18:30 Published in Egypt Russia by Porosus

I can proudly proclaim once again that I can publish articles. One takes this for granted, but when Egypt was erased, I thought it was high time to change my newspaper picture and name. Low and behold, when I changed it my location changed too, because Egypt wasn't on the list it changed to Estonia.

And since Egypt wasn't on the map, not on the list, I couldn't change it back. One could say I was a little angry at such a stupid thing, as I wanted to get word out about Greece, Macedonia, and other things.

Anyways... I give from myself (probably most Egyptian too) a hundred thanks to the Macedonians. From being a close (and large) community from before eMacedonia was added, to going on to conquer Italy and becoming a regional, if not world, megapower. Now they helped us, Egypt, in our time of need against a common foe that is the Greek nation. Now, I wouldn't say they did this out of the kindness of their heart (possibly some felt that way), but we can use this to become greater allies. Greece and Macedonia have always been enemies. From Philip of Macedon (RL, Alexander's daddy) to now (RL and game), they've been enemies. (Please, no comments or debate about whether he was Greek or Macedonia or Thracian or Carthaginian. If you have a comment on this PM me, I love history, and PM's won't be deleted by Admins for trolling) In real life, there is a dispute over the name. Now that is something I think America does far too often but that's not my battle to fight. eMacedonia probably helped us to weaken eGreece, as having provinces abroad, full of resources they need, it really boosted their economy. Severing this would, of course, weaken them. Now how does one cut this line of flowing resources? Take the bridge and waterways! Where is that bridge? Egypt!

Now one would say this is all very basic and straight forward. I agree. But now I can get to where I wanted this article to go. Macedonia is an enemy of Greece. As of right now, so is Egypt. Common enemy means a new friend. Again, very straightforward.

Now look at the map.

Greece doesn't have many friends in the neighborhood. Turkey and Greece have been going at it since the Byzantine Empire (In game merge of the two countries), and Turkey's loss of Central Greece (it had iron, which was the most prized resource in V1😉. So to the East Greece has a foe. To the north they have Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Serbia. Macedonia is also a given. I mean the Greeks are pissed about their name and history and stuff. (Again, no debates please! PM me if you want to debate!) Bulgaria I have no close on their standings with Greece, but since they are stuggling for a country to call their home, I don't think they'll be the next big help of Greece. Serbia is an ally of Macedonia. A very powerful ally of Macedonia at that. Also, another foe. Then to the west there is more Macedonia, but specifically the Italic regions of Macedonia. Firmly under their grip, Italy won't be helping Greece much very soon either.

Then to the south they have us Egyptians. Their stunt in Saudi Arabia and our home regions hasn't made them any friends. Lined their pockets maybe, but two very (and for us Egyptians, VERY) mad neighbors. North, South, East and West, Greece has no friends along their borders. I'd say we can find a few friends amongst these nations. These nations will help us get out of our "Free Lance" mode we have been in, allowing other nations to start building relations with us, and trust we will stand by those relations.

Ah, it feels good to write an article again 🙂 For those who were wondering what mi'at means, it means a hundred. Thousand isn't in my vocabulary yet. And as for Kil Xamm, it means Every Nation. All of those are Phoenician, very basic, probably wrong grammatically Phoenician, but it's an attempt.

As a side note, can we all write in the Social Interactions and Entertainment section? It'd make looking at all Egyptian articles to much easier. And I'm one who hates waiting for eRepublik to load every page to find no or one article there. Thanks 😃

*I'll write a memoir about V1 warfare and what drove it later.
