First Roman-Illyrian War
In the First Illyrian War, which lasted from 229 BC to 228 BC, Rome's concern with the trade routes running across the Adriatic Sea increased after the First Punic War, when many tribes of Illyria became united under one queen, Teuta. The attack on trading vessels owned by Italian merchants under Rome's protection, prompted the Roman senate to dispatch a Roman army under the command of the consuls Lucius Postumius Albinus (consul 234 and 229 BC) and Gnaeus Fulvius Centumalus to attack Illyria...
...but really the attack of italian ships was from pirates and Illyria has nothing to do with them even they were illyrians because pirates work with their mind and not in order with state...so with this we understand that Rome wanted this war an this was just a justification to conquer Illyria for many centuries after until 1054 AC when Rome separated in two Empires !!!

So you're telling me that illyrians who disappeared for 300 years suddenly appeared with a different language(see the illyrian coin which has a greek dialect) and also calling them selves a different name(albanians)?
heres what makes mores sence gathered from middle eastern and BYN history:
Caucasian Albania was gone in 800, from 965 to 1072 the arabs controlled of Sicily. Now what if the caucasian albanias were sent to work in Sicily (historically they did) then after in 1072 they started working for the byzantine in the land which is now called albania and btw albanains first came to existence in the balkans in 1100
