A lesson from working on the KTP

저는 지난 2~3 개월간 레고부대의 리더를 역임했습니다. 솔직히 말해서, 저는 이게 정말 필요한건지, 전혀 도움이 않되는 일인지 혼란스러웠고 모든게 뜻대로 않된다고 느꼈습니다. 제 주위에서는 제가 이해할 수 없는 언어로 이야기를 하고 저는 사람들이 행복해 하는지, 화가 난건지, 무시 당한다고 느낀건지 알기가 힘들었습니다.

저는 돕고 싶은 마음이 있지만 가끔씩은 망설여집니다...왜냐하면 저는 그들이 무엇을 원하는지 알수가 없었기 때문입니다. 구글 번역은 항상 완벽하지는 않았으니까요. 그래서 제게 한글 번역 프로젝트를 담당한다는건 상당히 정신나간 일이기도 했습니다. 한글로 적힌 간단한 단어조차 이해하지 못하는 상황에서 번역을 어떻게 할수 있을까요?

한주간 한글 번역 프로젝트를 위해 상당히 많은 시간을 소비했지만, 저에게는 좋은 팀원들이 있고, 각자 가진 능력은 다르지만 자신이 할수 있는 분야에서 기여를 했습니다.

저는 제 부대나 다른 e한국인 역시 마찬가지라고 생각합니다. 우리 모두가 모든 방면에서 탁월하지는 않습니다, 뭐, danyeo는 빼고요. 비록 제가 신규유저들의 질문에 답변을 해주긴 어려울수 있겠지만 다른 부대원이 대신 답변을 해줄수 있고, 대신 저는 부대 운영을 위한 자금 마련에 도움을 줄수 있습니다.

물론, 우리 모두 조금씩 노력해야 합니다. 팀워크는 절대 쉬운일이 아니지만, 우리가 해낼수만 있다면 앞으로의 일들을 성공하는데 밑거름이 될거라고 믿습니다.

This is going to one of the boring article, lol. Sorry, I need more material for the trolling ones.

I have been the MU leader for the LEA for 2-3 months now. To be honest, sometime I really do feel a bit useless, confuse, and completely helpless and thinking everything is out of control. People around me are speaking in a language that I dont understand, sometime I feel it is hard to gauge people's reaction to what I said or did, are they happy? or are they mad? feeling insulted, etc?

I want to help, but sometime I hesitated... because I dont even know what they need, google isn't always your best friend. So, it was a pretty insane thing for me to take on the Korean Translation Project (KTP). Afterall, how am I going to translate the UI if I dont know 2 words of Korean.

In the week where I spend (not most) but a lot of my free time trying to complete the KTP, I have a very good team of people, and they have different level of skill in different things, and they are assigned to work on things that they are good at.

I believe this is also true for my MU or even eSK too. Not everyone of us are good at everything, well, maybe except danyeo 🙂. Perhaps I am not so good at answering newbie's questions, I could be good at making money to support the MU operation, And other people can cover for me on answering questions.

But of course, we all have to put a little effort into it, teamwork is never an easy thing to do, but if we do it well, it can make everything easier to achieve.
