A Holiday Gift From NeilP99

With the anonymity of the internet it is easy to forget that behind each eRepublik citizen is a real person. We play this game from all over the world and for many different reasons. The grudges that we hold, be they against another player or the eRepublik representations of another country, can often feel like real grudges. The perceived insults can often feel like real insults. And the pretend wars can often feel like real wars. In a way it is a testament to the game that we, and the Admins, have created. In another way it is a danger. Every now and then we need to take a step back and realize that the hostility that we may feel towards one eCountry or another shouldn’t be felt against the real country that is being represented.

In that spirit, and in the spirit of the holidays that many of us have been, will be, or are celebrating, I offer up a simple gift to anyone who wants it. You see, this time of years is special for much of the world, and even if you don’t believe in the religious holidays that make it special it’s still easy to get in the spirit that many people feel. So I make my offer to anyone who wants it, whether they are in EDEN, Phoenix, Sons of Liberty, or no alliance at all. Whether they are in a country that has helped my own or hurt my own. Whether they are religious in real life, whatever that religion might be, or non-believers. Simply say happy holidays in some way in the comments of this article and you’ll get a Q1 Food from me. It doesn’t matter what holiday you’re mentioning or if you’re mentioning no specific holiday at all, you’ll still get this small gift from me in the hopes that it will spread a little holiday joy, even if it is just through a game.

Now I know that some of you out there have no use for a Q1 Food. That’s fine, and I wish I could offer you something better, but I’m not exactly a wealthy man in this game. If you don’t want the gift then feel free to say so when you share your holiday greeting. Some of you might be interested in helping me out with this fun little project. If you are then I greatly appreciate it, and would ask that you either donate Q1 Food to this organization that I control, or donate Gold to me to use to buy more Food for others (Gold only please, I don’t want to have to go through the money markets to get a currency that I can use). The last thing that I ask everyone to do is to vote for this article. Hopefully that will let more people see it and will help spread the holiday joy throughout eRepublik.
