A Free Denmark - No Says The Programmers

So, today was the day before the day. I got op at 6:15 and read the message Syrlingen had texted me, "Apparently it is not possible to create a new party, when you never have been a member of one."
I opened the computer and wrote him. "What are you on about? That made absolutely no sense whatsoever what you wrote," and as I finished the sentence I knew that he was right. What he wrote made no sense, which could only mean that the eRep Team had done it.

14 days of planning was wasted. The plan was simple, but brilliant. Get a friend to join erepublik, get him to level 16 at any cost and have him to create the party (if no other was created at that time) before 9 AM CET on the 24th. After the creation, run for congress. If everything worked out as planned, he would be the only congress member, which would mean total control over CS approvals and laws for the first month, making it much easier to avoid a PTO.

Everything was setup and ready and everything was ruined by, "You should have political experience (being member of another party) before considering creating your own party."

Why the developers ever thought of that idea I cannot imagine. Maybe it is for the same reason that you cannot move region before you are level 7, which makes it impossible for newborns to get to fight, if they start in the wrong region, where no fights are running. Like in Denmark.

There are so many things in this game that pisses me off now and those two were just the tip of the very large pile of garbage.

Why is the political system in the game so flawed? This game is four years old and all you can do politically in the game, is make two law proposals, give CS to anyone (since when is CS a congress matter?) and then vote for stuff, that can just be put up there by any congress member.

We have already seen the problem with creating parties. Why do one need to have political experience to create a party? That makes no sense. With that logic they would never be able to reset the game, as no parties would ever be able to be created. And the game has been reset in Denmark. Denmark is dead. It is not possible to get a congress because of poor decisions in the development team and as long as we have no congress, we will not be able to get a Danish citizenship.

And if we finally did get a party running somehow, it would be impossible for us in the long run to keep out PTOs as the game does not allow exclusion from parties. That makes no sense either. Why can the Party President not decide who is to be a member or not?
And I could go on and on in that direction, but we all know how idiotic the system is, that anyone can join any party and run for congress and there is not much a party can do about it.

And in other parts of the game.
The economy module is so small now that it is ridiculous. This game has tremendous potential. There are so many types of companies that could be implemented and so many uses for it. It does not matter that it would make the game more complicated, as long as you train the players with the missions like now. And do not open of for everything right away. One or two things at a time, letting the players get to know what can be done.
It is way too simple now. There is no need to overcomplicate it like in XXX where it is a jungle, but it is too simple now.

And then we have the military and media modules. The media is barely used anymore. Most of what you see are medal hunters giving some weapons away in return for subscribers to their newspaper. And then we have all the shouts about it, "free food and weapons, click here". STOP IT. It is really annoying to look at and you look like a fool when you join the game of acting like a monkey.

And the military? Not much to say about it. I have played for more than 8 months and the military module has been in beta state since then, probably even before. Even the citizen feeds are in beta. What is up with that? Beta was four years ago.
The military is all about who has the most money. It is created as a gold drain that is to pay for the programmers, that should develop the game even further. And that takes me to the next rant in my super rant.

This game would be absolutely nothing without the community. If you do not have daily contact with people and actually play the eWord like it is a world, then you would get bored to death. So why does the game not have a community built in?
All forums are external and the game forum has been shut down for months now, because the admins were tired of hearing about complains all the time. Which essentially means that the community in the community based game, is the shouts. That is really not satisfying at all.

The game has many flaws, but one of the biggest flaws in the game as I see it, is, that there is no purpose. If you play a game like XXX, you see a purpose. You start on equal terms as everyone else. You can buy yourself some things that make it possible for you to have a game that is a little easier, but it will never be enough to make yourself much stronger than everyone else. That you need constant activity for. And in the end you have an endgame, ending up to the game to actually end and find a winner. That, you do not have here. If you start today, you are so far behind the oldest players, that you will never be able to catch up, no matter how much time you spend. Even no matter how much money you spend.
The real money to be earned in this game is on Battle Hero and Campaign Hero medals. The strongest players in the eWorld today have such a high strength that they make more gold a day on fighting than they spend on training with full bonuses. And this means, that no one will ever be able to catch up with those people. If you are new and you spend money on training, all you can do, is to not make the gap wider. You will never catch up, meaning, you will never be able to get the medals the old ones get. It is simply not possible.

I have digressed quite far away from my original purpose with this article.
All I wanted to say when I started writing was, that eDenmark will not get a congress this month, as the developers have made a system, that makes it impossible for the citizens to create a party in a country, where no one has ever been in a party before. All the old players left to Sweden or died, many did even both.
We cannot get our country back now. And if we by sheer luck got a party running, we would be a month behind already.

And that is the end for me at least. Right now I see absolutely no reason for continuing playing this game. Maybe I will see a reason to do so in a month, maybe I will never be enlightened. And that is that, for now.
I will leave the game, in the sense, that I will fire all employees I have, log on once a day to train and work, to ensure I do not get too much behind, in case I would someday like to return. As my gold runs out I will start dissolving my companies and spend that gold on training and when all the gold is gone and the game still has not enlightened me, I will stop logging on.

In some part of me, I hope that the developers will correct all the flaws and develop the game to my likings before the 400-500 gold is gone. But 500 gold only lasts for 100 days and I do not see the developers suddenly seeing the light and start doing things right. They have not done much right in the past eight months, why would they start now?

When I wanted to post this article, I could not. My news paper is located in Sweden and I am a Norwegian Citizen. I am told to change the location of the newspaper to the same as my citizenship. But I cannot. Norway is wiped from the map, so it is not shown in the list of countries to move the news paper to.
If I did not have enough before, I certainly do now.
