It’s been a long time since I’ve written an article, but I feel that one needed to be written at this time. Most of you do not know me, and frankly I don’t blame you. I’m not one of those elite players who everyone knows. That said, until about a week ago, I was your Minister of Foreign Affairs. That is until I was removed from that position by our President, Bruce Lightninghands.
I signed on to his cabinet because I thought that he was a leader who would take our country to a greater position of strength. Instead I found a small group of people who pat themselves on the back as they deliberate on how best to show how knowledgeable they are. They are not leaders, they are those dreaded “elite” players who think that the rest of us don’t know what they’re doing and don’t know what we’re doing if we disagree with them. I, for one, have broken all ties with them and believe that as more of their attempts at “leadership” become public, you will too. It’s time to take our nation back my fellow Canadians.
Throughout the history of eRepublik nations have been run by these types of players. These nations have all shared the same fate. They have been doomed to a stagnant state of no growth in population, territory, or power. Our nation should not be doomed to this fate. Our nation should not be doomed to leaders like Bruce Lightninghands. Our nation needs real leaders to step forward.

I'm sorry you've taken that attitude TTL.
We've been friends for almost 4 years in this game,that's a rarity. I've know you to be politically minded which is why I pushed for you to be MoFA when there wasn't a clear choice otherwise. I had hoped you would have taken advantage of the situation to better yourself. Instead this is just embarrassing.
The traitor is gone now, and a real leader has step forward. But apparently your method of protest was to go completely inactive, forcing a change in cabinet. As much as I am loathe to defend anything that childish twit ever did, I will admit that Brucie made the right call. The MoFA cannot just stop communicating because he doesn't like the CP. Especially during a war. That has nothing to do with being elite. If you cannot do the job the country needs you to do, do not accept the position.
Xander, the key is that the MoFA was never given ANY communication on what the policy would be from this President. I was asked if I was interested in the position, said I would be, was told I got the position after the election, and from there I heard nothing more from Bruce. No information on policy, no information on who he wanted to contact, no information on anything. I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only one that experienced this.
I want Canada to succeed, but I didn't get elected President, so I either had to accept what this player who got elected so he and the rest of his elite friends could have a title wanted, or to make up my own policy. Like I said, I wasn't elected, so I don't have the people's permission to create policy. It's time for those people to unite against players who have no interest in serving them and instead only want to further their ego.
A true leader would rise then in the void that surrounded you. Take control of your situation, if he gave you no policy or orders, then go ahead and do your own work to better Canada. If he would have returned with a negative response, well you took control and did something while others may have done nothing.

The Cabinet thread, in which everyone could see the President's policy and everyone could contribute, was full of FA stuff. You can't really say you didn't receive any communication when there was clearly a lot. Also, a MoFA doesn't need to receive everything from the President. When a President is elected, he is elected along with their Cabinet. So you clearly had the moral authority to formulate some policy in order to act properly as MoFA. You can't say there was no way, there is always a way. Exalted managed to keep up as MoD and I myself managed to keep up as MoFA and carry on with business despite all the scandals in which the Cabinet was involved at the time. An impeachment vote was up, there was practically no communication in the Cabinet, yet both Exalted and myself were carrying on with business, him with the British war and myself with keeping up active diplomatic links with our friends and allies. When you became inactive, the situation was much less worse than it was in Bruce's last days as President. So you really, really can't say that there was no way. If you really wanted, you could easily keep up as MoFA. But you clearly didn't want.
Agreed, MoFA is one of the most important cabinet positions. It needs a person who takes initiative and probably should have experience.
I'm not defending Bruce; frankly I don't remember what his platform was or if it existed, but his Cabinet isn't half bad. Dozzer and Exalted Druid are informed and proactive Cabinet members that utilize their strengths and knowledge for eCanada.

So far, I get the sense that you didn't do much. What were your goals for the term? What stopped you from working towards those goals? Successful cabinet members have a good idea of what's going on, what they want to do and work accordingly towards these goals.
Bruce could have given you a list of goals and told you what to do, but some CPs don't micromanage their Cabinets. We all expected more of Bruce, since we initially elected him as CP, but we also expected more of you.
As far as I know, you were offered to continue working in FA in Ardy's cabinet, but you just went AWOL.

Though I appreciate how you are attracting all this criticism. It is amusing to see other people trip over themselves to give you their theories on best management practises.
It';s your fault you got kicked out of the cabinet, The time lord, you were not ADFk all the time, and I NEEDED to get a ministre who would run the country fgor me. It's okay,. I'll think Dozzer will to a great job a mofa. Maybe newxt munth when I erun again!!!

Your removal had nothing to do with "elites"; personal opinion of Bruce aside, you were not there to do the job, so he got someone else who could.
What would you do in his shoes?
