Join the new world

As an immigrant to Japan I have found here a different culture, organizations, and history than what I left behind in North Korea. When we originally formed our nation we were populated mostly by Americans, out of college, and part of the gaming crowd. We were, for the most part, the sole political power of North Korea. And since the beginning of our nation, we found ourselves under attack and our security threatened.

Here in Japan these situations have changed for the Korean refugees. This nation is made up of a diverse group of people from many walks of life. The political life is varied and lively with many different groups competing. But in Japan we have found the most wonderful difference of all, a true peace. My fortune may be at risk on the front lines of Spain, but my spirit is secure in Japan.

So I shall attempt to honor my new country by taking her ideals and merging it with those that are Korean. Perhaps I will not take the best of both worlds, but both have much to give. Japan and Korea together can be stronger than they are apart, for we have both seen how the rights of the few are lost in the desires of the many. Our commonalities and our differences can show us a new path forward if we look for opportunities in the future.

To that end I shall pledge this newspaper to be a bridge between our people. Here I shall write articles to bring about glory and prosperity for our nations. Commentators shall be encouraged to lend their thoughts to the process. And I will offer up ideas and actions for our leaders and ourselves to take.
