United States of PEACE
Chris Stanwick
A few minutes ago, President Emerick announced that the United States Congress has passed a peace treaty ending the war with PEACE.
I'm sure many of you expect me to be overjoyed that our government finally followed the advice I espoused over two weeks ago when we still had more than half of our states and at least one of every high raw material producing region. At the time I was ridiculed and branded a coward and traitor for my call for peace. Then President Harrison Richardson and Secretary of State Emerick were two of my vocal critics, running their own campaigns for President as champions of America and for continuing the fight until we either won or were completely overrun by PEACE.
Well, I am not overjoyed by the peace treaty. In fact, I voted against it along with a few other Senators who are true patriots and Americans. The time for peace ended many days ago. Despite Emerick's glowing explanation of the treaty and how it is the best for our nation at this time, it will not accomplish the goals optimistically set by our government officials. The approval of a peace treaty now, when our nation comprises fewer than ten states, is disappointing at best.
I will not be a part of the hypocrisy perpetrated by the current administration in this cowardly act. The least Emerick could have done is gone down with the ship in a blaze of glory rather than beg the aggressors to leave a few meager scraps. In my last act as a United States Senator, I am initiating impeachment proceedings against Emerick for signing away our nation without so much as consulting with the American public. I will not live in such a nation as that.
May the gods bless America, for you will all need their blessings now.

Umm Chris, you supported a treaty that would have ruined us and our allies. I think you voted against this one (which is soooo much better then the previously proposed one) to save face. Get over yourself dood.
haha wut
This treaty is better than the last one, glad to see USA will be back on its feet!
I couldn't agree more Chris. Emerick is a disgrace. I was right. He's a coward.
dude. The treaty is like exactly the same... We can still fight for our allies and all. I don't get you man...
I disagree with what Emerick did here with the treaty, but I hope we can forge ahead the best we can.
And i thought things were looking up with the Russian President running away with his country's gold.
Luck is not on our side
It's better than the treaty you leaked because it doesn't screw over everyone that helped us in the past
51 or fight, impeach the tratior!
IMPEACH THE TRAITOR!
Wel at least Emerick finnaly did something with his presidentcey, I honestly thought he was mute up until now, never headr much at all from the guy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JY4HMLb0Hs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JY4HMLb0[..]Lb0Hs this is Emerick's treaty in song form.
Who were the senators that voted for and against this? We all have a right to know. And we have a right to know before the congressional elections. That way all citizens know who they are voting for. This treaty is no different than the one Chris posted a few weeks ago. At least then we still had some high resource regions left. Now we have to buy back everything with no gold whatsoever.

Agreed.
Sounds like sour grapes to me. It seems that real life politics are just part of eReality here too: someone comes up with an idea, it doesnt work then, and then gets all fussy when someone "steals" their idea and it works. Just accept that your biggest problem is not the treaty, its the fact that Emerick is the one who got it done and not you.
There is no dignity in destruction, just stupidity. Ive only been here a week and even I can see that the eUS was in a horrible predicament. How is it "dishonorable" to want to survive and rebuild? If the eUS and eAmericans really wanted to be "PEACE puppet" all they had to do was trap the eUS in one or two states and leave it. That would have been the end of the eUS, its economy, and its population as everyone would leave.
This treaty will be the end of PEACE not the US. Even if you cant read Russian, try translating some of their media and such. Many of them are getting tired of PEACE, they know Hungary and Indonesia are only looking out for themselves, and this treaty highlights that: Russia is guaranteed NOTHING while Hungary gets Alaska and Indonesia gets California and Hawaii. Its going to be interesting to see if Russia even accepts the terms of the treaty. PEACE looks strong now, but read between the lines: it is falling apart.
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
Hello fellows! xD
Oh, this is rich.
Mr. Stanwick announced his plan to leave the US days ago, and yet remained to fire off a few live grenades.
Mr. Stanwick brands those who voted in favor of the treaty as cowards, and then flees both Congress and the nation.
Mr. Stanwick speaks of hypocricy, yet now opposes a better plan than one he once supported.
Mr. Stanwick speaks of patriotism, yet abandoned his Congressional duties until he returned to cast a single vote, propose impeachment of a political rival, formally quit the office he was elected to serve and make a politically self-serving statement.
Finally, Ajay Bruno has as an ally Ajay Bruno. 'Nuff said.
Rhetoric aside, what about the specifics on this peace treaty? It sounds better than the last one. It seems that PEACE is having troubles of its own. Arguments at the top. They must be stretched thin. A focus on europe. And did Russia's president really rob the treasury?
@st krems
where is your proof? sooner or later we were going to lose because peace is stronger.
@stanwick
your peace treaty was abysmal compared to the one passed in congress now. we are now not throwing our allies under the bus as your draft treaty would have done, we have 4 months instead of three of non-agression.
Either we lose the war or we sign a treaty (your treaty sucked and this one is reasonable)
PEACE wants a treaty because Russia had 5000 gold stolen and they've run out of gas.
@bassett
spain transferred 16k to peace. so with 5000 gold gone they are still up 27k to tank as they would please. (oh yea and they still make loads more money than the eUS government makes)
Its sad to see experienced players calling the man who saved us from certain defeat a traitor. With this treaty Emerick has effectively keept us on the map and given us a chance to recover some of our losses. The idea of going down guns blazing is an atractive one. Who wouldent like to take part in the biggest battle in eRepublik history (Florida) and be able to say they didnt back down. It would be courageous, honorable but after our fall what then? Half of us would move to Spain or Romania or Greece the other half would stay for RWs. Revolt would be stamped out time after time and eAmerica would only be spoken of as a lond ago defeated ennemy of PEACE. take a look at RL, Hitler went down guns blazing, Napoleon went down guns blazing, Sparta went down guns blazing but where are they now? What influence do they have on the world today? Emerick did the best he could with what he was given and saved eAmerica from becoming another conquered empire. He has given us the hope the chance to rise once again when the time is right. For all of those who disagree with Emerick...you are the real traitor for deserting your president in such a difficult time.
you should be grateful that our president had enough sense to do this. I know many of you dont like it, but I think I would rather be a small country with no resources, than a nation that doesnt exist at all.

Dear Chris,
Your treaty sucked. Emerick's, like he himself, is great(er).
Sincerely,
Wisher
Thank you for betraying your allies!
We'll fight 'till the bitter end!
We'll never surrender!
Hail EDEN!
Hail Canada!
To Hell with traitors!!!
Re: above, obviously "I meant that Mr. Stanwick has as an ally Ajay Bruno."

You're god.
Voted.
No, with this treaty we'll be able to more fully support our allies due to the fact we won't be distracted by trying to stay alive. Chris's treaty was horrible due to the stipulation that we would not be allowed to fight in the upcoming battles in Europe. This way we can.
Furthermore, Chris, when your treaty came up we still had hope of pulling off a military victory, that has now ended with the border fiasco.
@ Zgheng He (and others) the treaty is here:

@ johnpauljones: I'll let others in Congress speak for themselves, but like the majority of others I voted YES. Don't bother yourself with using that in a campaign against me, as I won't be seeking re-election. Unlike some, however, I will stick around for the remainder of my term and face the blowback of my vote.
If you care to read the reasoning for my vote, it'll be in my newspaper later today.
Sorry Stanwick but this treaty, although I hate it, is better than yours. At least we can defend our allies. This may be a key point that will make this treaty not so terrible.
your an idiot. either we lose the country. or we sign a treaty. id rather have our country. now we have a chance to rebuild and maybe one day get revenge
Meh. I don't care anymore. eIndonesia took over my state 2 days before citizenship. At least I am in a country that will last, now.
The eUS will never be the same, again.
Any chance you're blustering here and are actually in support of Emerick's treaty? Sorry, but something smells rotten in Denmark in regards to this impeachment proposal.
The first treaty wasn't much different than this one. It would have costed us more to buy back states, but we would have paid less since we still had about 40 states at the time.
At the point in which Chris Stanwick proposed a peace treaty it was not clearly the best option for us. We still thought we could drain PEACE of their gold and were winning at least some fights.
The turning point in which we realized that this treaty was needed was when our allies, Spain, lost 16k gold to PEACE and their country began to be easily dismantled. Before this I was completely for fighting til the end, but this was the tipping point which showed me we could no longer win.
With the loss of Spain's economy we only have 2 strong economies in F/E, Romania and Greece. 2 strong economies will in no way be able to fight off the PEACE invasion so the general consensus of congress came to the conclusion that peace was the best option for both us and our allies futures.
The only problem is, while we can still assist our allies, we're putting more fuel into the PEACE machine. Recently Russia lost a significant amount of its gold--or so I hear--but now we're helping to re-fill that gap? Remember, every time we pay gold for a state--unless I haven't heard the entire proposal--we're paying gold that can be used to crush our allies.
Bad Treaty. No resources for 4 months or longer.
btw ajay bruno is your biggest supporter chris 🙂

Wow I used to respect you Chris but you sir are a hypocrite you supported an even worse PEACE treaty when you were running for president.
How can you be against a peace treaty when we are so close to being conquered. Yes it would have been best to have signed a treaty earlier but how dare you call for impeachment against someone who is saving this country from ruin.
It makes us complete economic panws of PEACE, I hated this one far more than the old one.
And how do you suppose we reclaim our territories, oh president?
I demand the resignation of Emerick and all members of congress who voted for this treaty.
For all of those who disagree with Emerick...you are the real traitor for deserting your president in such a difficult time. He did the best with what he was given, he has managed to keep a sinking ship afloat. Better then sinking into history never to be a world power again, with this treaty we have a chance, united we have a chance.
omg i cant believe this!what a scum!
