!Notice! About your future president
Laurana Psion
Presidential elections draw close; excitement mounts and tensions rise amongst our people who are no doubt in gleeful anticipation of the announcement of who shall be our next president! As such, I appeal to you who are reading this article, to turn out on the day of voting, which is on the 5th of this month! A mere 3 days away from now!
In case you are ever confused as to who is currently running, please check the relevant page detailing the next presidential elections. However, for your ease, I have replicated such information below.
The Candidates:
Minamoto Yoritomo - Supported by: Korean National Party; Cookie Party, Tequila Fitness Club
Oraizan - Supported by: National Alliance Party; Imperial Sun Party, Kageki Minshutou, Orange Party
However, a more crucial point is which of the two candidates you should vote for. Do you know what their plans are; how they wish to run things, or what their goals will be? Do you even know who they are? If you don't know, then how will you be able to decide between the two?
Well, if you are unclear as to how any of these fine candidates stand, please do ASK! Make your voice be heard.
To do so, please state your questions HERE on the eJapanese forums, where your questions will be collected and then relayed to both presidential candidates, who will then attempt to answer them to the best of their abilities. If you are for some reason unable to post them there on the forum, then do ask them in a comment on this article, but please only comment on this article as a last resort.
I would also like to request that when it comes to the 5th of August, election day, vote for the candidate you believe in! The one who is better capable of sailing eJapan safely through any tempestuous waters! Vote for the candidate whose policies appeal to your heart and head; not for his or her grammar, avatar, or name! Vote for the candidate you believe in!
It's your vote that counts, so why waste it?

VOTED
I ask: Who is the better? 😃
Well done Psi, voted.
An excellent primer for people who wish to cast an informed vote in the August Presidential Elections! Voted.
If you want to know who is really running the country after the elections, make sure you ask this of each Presidential candidate:
Who will control the following organizations?
-National Bank of Japan (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/70311)
-Japanese Interior Service (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1270576)
-Japanese Imperial Army (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1250277)
-Japan Election Commission (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1573988)
-Sempai-Kouhai Program (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1698096)
The first three are "official" government organizations, the last two are apparently waiting to be fully approved.
So this article isn't relevant anymore?

Interesting tactic, to say you're not running to avoid any real debate or discussion, then rejoin unannounced at the last minute. Or at least unannounced to the larger Japanese community, outside of the IRC clique.
I actually announced that I may or may not run the next day. 🙂

It was not to avoid any type of debate, since while I was running I strictly said I did not want to.
Check your facts before calling somebody else out on it.
"I actually announced that I may or may not run the next day."
And since it has been 3 days since you wrote that, your point is? If you want to call me out on facts, you might want to be honest yourself. The facts are - you dropped out of the race, you thanked people for their kindness, and then... nothing. So if you want to attack me for questioning whether you are running or not, at least have the integrity to make an official announcement ahead of time.
I started running when the article was top voted, your point is? There was notice. Whatever you're trying to do it wont work.
"I started running when the article was top voted, your point is?"
Show me where that was made clear anywhere here on Erepublik.
"Whatever you're trying to do it wont work."
You mean trying to provide clarity to the presidential race? Is that a bad thing? Was it clear that you were running again? No. Would the fact that you're running again surprise anyone who doesn't frequent the IRC? Yes. If you're running again, great. Hopefully you'll be willing to respond to debate questions and be honest with the Japanese public. The responses by you here suggest someone who struggles with being honest and answering tough questions. And if that's true, why should we vote for you as President?
To Musashi and Oraizan:
Please, please, please move this conversation elsewhere! I'd highly suggest that the forums would be a better place for this argument if you wish to continue it.
To everyone else:
Please comment here only if you have a question to ask our presidential candidates but cannot post it on the forums for whatever reason!
Thanking you in advance for following my humble request,
Psi
^ What Psi said.
My questions are in the name of the Nihonjin Sakura-To:
-Is there anything you want to do against monopolys in the japanese market?
-What is the way of your foreign policy?
-What will be the role of the JIA under your rule?
-What do you want to do to incrise the activity within the country?
-What do you want to do to prevent the departure of people like Inferno, Origineel, and Gabriel Lavanche?
-Do you agree or not that we should not allow presidents to get eleceted 3 times in a row?
Will you appoint Geno to be our SECDEF?
Have you got plans to have more active governmental companies?
Minamoto has waay more experience. Why vote for someone with less experience rather than a long time dedicated president?
