Its with sadness at heart I write this.
Today I fired all workers at Akelius. Over 230 people have left the company since V1 was introduced. Akelius that has been one of the leading companies since january has built its last house. The reason is because there isint any wood to be found. If you havent noticed, Admins has crashed the economy. There isint even enough wood on the market for 1 (!) house, for me to buy - Akelius usually produces 10 a day. Since I cant buy wood, the workers cant work. If they cant work, they cant increase in skill - and there is no salary. I have had over 600 alerts in my inbox saying: "Your employees can't work because your company doesn't have raw materials in its inventory. Please buy raw materials from the marketplace." What the alert didnt say was that there only was 12 wood on the market, and that I needed 800 for 1 house.
At first I thought that Admin would change this implementation when they realize what a big mistake they have done. Those efforts seems to be useless. They dont seem to get it. They dont see that the economic structure of Erepublik has been ruined. They dont see that the game is dying. They dont see that the players are leaving Erepublik.
I have read some articles stating that I have fired the employees because of greed and selfishness - this makes me kind of sad. I barely wanted to log in today, and I really didnt feel like klicking a "fire" button for 1 hour to fire 200 workers. But I did it so people would understand that they have to restart their Erepublik carriers, because Admins have "rebooted" this game. Its back to the beginning. Well not really the beginning, much worse than in December/January.
I maybe should have written a detailed article about how they have messed up the economy, and what they would have to do to fix. But I just dont feel like it.

What are you going to do now?

Leave or stay and see if they somehow would manage to repair this extremely bad situation?

I feel with you Ziggyzag, it's really a disaster and there is nothing obvious happening from the admins to mitigate the effects. Losing GreatWeapons / Akelius is a major landmark in the eRepublik's history and it will have huge consequences. I'd like to thank you for the great effort that you put in to try to save the game. I still hope there is a chance.

Oppressed? In terms of time spent working for the company, Ziggyzag was probably underpaid. There's no such thing as labour, because clicking a button can't be considered as such. You speak only of units constructed, but that's not only what keeps a company alive. The GM spends hours watching the market prices, employing new staff, getting export licenses and so on.

I wont stop playing yet. I will keep playing as a politician and I hope that there will be things to do as a politician, now when the economy is crashed.

That's very sad. Although I'm rather newbie player (only one month) I have observed that running company (especially big company) requires a lot of effort. The saddest thing is that months of hard work are lost.

I can absolutely understand your point and hope things will be changed or our economy will be more balanced within the next 2 weeks... I will do my very best to survive but I can't promise anything as you can see at Tre Kronor 🙁 (100 ppl fired, too)

Ziggyzag is the landfader of eSweden.

These companies are institutions, I do sure hope someone can take over this heritage and fill those shoes. DRK Group is also struggeling but with good hopes for the future.

With Ziggyzag still in the swedish politics Sweden will always be strong. The shaky transformation from Beta to V1 has for sure shaken Sweden but not nearly as much as most other countries. I say for sure that www.erepublik.se and our strong friendship and sometimes black humour is to thank for that.

So yes, Ziggyzag, there might still be some work that needs to be done at the Swedish Finance Department 😉

more or less it will be all balanced soon. dudes will go to gather raw goods, salaries will be wavey, propotions between raw and stuff as well but afterall I believe we will play well again 😁

Hey Ziggy, it's just a game, hence my comments. And you ARE immensely rich, and the price for a house is very high, and I can't feel sorry for you.

It's time to turn all companies over to the collective leadership of the state, in that way we wont have all these snibbeling capitalistic martyrs.

Like Ziggy, I have commented on the stupidity of the new economic system. The introduction of raw materials has been done in an economically illiterate way.

I have also however invested in the wood industry. We can and should keep this going..

I normaly dont comment on Flamebaits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamebait for you who dont know the term) but Desdichado is either totaly ignorant or just full of envy for someone who have put in hundreds (thousands?) of hours bulding an empire.

But economies in a capitalism world REQUIRE people with wealth so that they can invest and push the ecomomy forward. Loosing the big companies will put a BIG dent in the Swedish eEconomy. I have been thinking about starting my own company (end eventualy empire) but just the thought of all the work made me drop it.

As a worker I have ALL the power (former worker for Akelius) as when I got my salery lowered (I dont care if it was for greed or for any good reason) I just changed company I worked for (with higher salery).

I have more than once been thinking if erepublik is worth my time after V1.

I hope to see you still making big bucks in the future Ziggyzag!
