Congratulations to all, both new and returning Congressmen.
Your initial Sign-In thread is ready for you, as are the CBO Donations and Speaker of the House Nominations threads. These are all "first order of business" for every new session of Congress. The SoH thread will be unlocked Wednesday morning, after the Sign-In thread is complete. Also be sure to hit the Congressional Medal Donation thread, and follow the tradition of sending your 5 gold prize to the Congressional Budget Office or Military/Militia of your choice.
Congress members are expected to be active. New Congress members should read the Constitution and Code, as well as review past Discussion and Proposal threads to get up to speed as well as learn how these things are to be presented properly. Experienced Congress members are expected to help new members, by answering questions and guiding them to available resources for learning.
Of primary importance is to know that proper procedure must be followed before using an in-game Law Proposal. If one is posted without there having been a full Discussion-Proposal-Vote in the Congress forums, the in-game Proposal will be summarily rejected.
Of special note is a matter of ethics. It is illegal to sell or otherwise exchange Citizenship Approvals for personal gain-- the penalty is censure, to be banned from participation in forum-based Congress activities.
Do your best, 49th Congress-- America expects no more, or less, of you.
Eli Crownover & George Armstrong Custer
Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House, 48th Congress

Arrden, I apologize for the typo. your State was the only one in which the results changed overnight, and when I changed the name I neglected to change the Party.
Devrim Baslasin, "Party notation is according to the Top Five Party under which the candidates ran. Some are 6th Party guests hosted by a Top Five." your notation here is fine.
'Congress members are expected to be active. New Congress members should read the Constitution and Code, as well as review past Discussion and Proposal threads to get up to speed as well as learn how these things are to be presented properly. Experienced Congress members are expected to help new members, by answering questions and guiding them to available resources for learning.'
...and just about the time you learn all the procedures, Congress is running for re-election.
'Of primary importance is to know that proper procedure must be followed before using an in-game Law Proposal. If one is posted without there having been a full Discussion-Proposal-Vote in the Congress forums, the in-game Proposal will be summarily rejected.'
Sad that this first of all a necessary evil and second that someone in Congress actually has the power to get it rejected.
'Of special note is a matter of ethics. It is illegal to sell or otherwise exchange Citizenship Approvals for personal gain-- the penalty is censure, to be banned from participation in forum-based Congress activities.'
This is expected of the same citizens who bought votes to get into office...can you say oxymoron...?
Nice job as always, Custer. It's a shame that you weren't a "priority".
