I. Arm America Loses Congressional Funding, Some Debate Continues

Over the past few days, Congress debated in private whether or not to continue funding Arm America, an old program designed to distribute fighting material to citizens during major battles. This is not the first time Arm America has faced funding cuts. A year ago when I first came to Congress, Arm America was cut from the budget, as seen here.. Arm America will continue to be support through the Executive branch and private funding. The funding allocated to Arm America will be redistributed to Meals on Wheels, the Office of Militia Support, and the United States Armed Forces, in these proportions: 25%, 25%, 50%. The weekly funding for Arm America was 25,000 USD.
Despite the passage of the legislation, some debate, now public, continues here.
II. Congress Debates How Best to Keep Discussions Open to the Public

In effort to bring Federalists values to Congress, I have begun a discussion on how to keep government open for all. After observing the amount of Discussions/Proposals/Votes taking place over the past week in Congress, I have noticed that over 60% of Congressional threads have taken place on the Private Congressional Proceedings section, which explains the alarming amount of classified material in this newspaper. Many of these threads are not of the sensitive nature, but are still kept from the public. There is no mechanism for these threads to be moved except by the will of the forum moderators or waiting until a Congressional sessions has ended. For those interested in Congressional proceedings (either for their own pleasure or to familiarize themselves with the material before running for Congress), the lack of public discussion may give the impression that Congress is either doing little or keeping too many secrets.
There currently are no laws dictating what material should be discussed publically and privately and I was skeptical that any such law could be enforced. So I proposed a mechanism for getting threads out of the backrooms of Congress and into the open. Of course, legislation is in its infancy and I hope it produces some good debate.
III. Survey Results!

In an effort to make this the best newspaper about Congress ever, I asked readers to fill out a simple survey and provide feedback. I’m pleased by the results.
In regards to Formatting, 85% of responders enjoyed the format (gave a rating of 8 or higher)
As for Content, 78% of responders enjoyed the content (rating 8 or higher). One displeased responder stated the Congressional Record, “Should include everything. EC crap, Hidden debates, all the threats and confessions of multi use.” Another responder requested, “Feature more Oblige.”
In terms of Censorship, the majority of responders 56% wanted to Congressional Record to Continue advocating for debates to be made public. On the other hand, 30% of responders wanted Congressional secrets to be divulged. The remaining 14% believed Congressional secrets should not be made public.
In terms of reading all editions, the majority 78% do read all editions. Guess I have to keep that up then
😉.
Finally, I asked whether or not this should become an official government newspaper. Readers were almost evenly split in their response with 43% wanted the Congressional Record to be an official paper while 57% wanted the paper to keep its independence. I am content with the paper remaining independent and pleased that it has made its way into the National Broadcast System.
I’d like to thank everyone who responded. Many of the additional comments were positive. Probably the most interesting one was from the aforementioned displeased responder: “Perhaps we can all rebel and toss out the elites... but i doubt it their multis are protected by admin relationships.”
If you have anymore comments regarding to paper, comment below.

@twisted-pixel: the 6k from AA to OMS is in addition to funding already set aside for OMS so...$142,250 for week instead of $136,000.
@John Largo: lmao
What Heero Blaze said.
Also, voted *every time* 😃
There has always been a number of players who seem to believe there is NEVER any need for secrecy in this game.
They really need to THINK that out.
I suppose, its fueled by high levels of info not being readily available, but our leadership can only do so much. If you want to know more, get active in a party. Then, run for Congress. Those seats ARE available. OH! I almost forgot. If you DO get elected you WILL be insulted and attacked in the same ways you see others being attacked in articles like this. And, yes... you WILL be thought of as an "elite".
No secrets, we are suppose to be a representative republic for and by the people, all power is derived from the people.
