40th Anniversary of the Moon Landing

Day 608, 02:52 Published in Hungary Estonia by hallvatt

Its a small step for a man, but a huge leap fro mankind.

Or something like that. Anyhow now is the time to celebrate mans first steps on the moon. It has been 40 grand years since NASA launched its highly successful moon mission and Mr. Armstrong said his legendary words.

I will not stop on the debate whether there really was a moon landing or was it all fake. I would prefer to think of it as one of the big achievements of mankind and as one of the steps on our way to conquering space.

Now lets how the record-breaking big team of 13 astronauts on the International Space Station ( ISS ) celebrate this big event. According to the BBC they might celebrate by pissing into Apollo-era urine collection bags.

The BBC reports that the main toilet of the 100 billion dollars costing space station has broken down, and the crew has been told to hang out an out of order sign. Currently they will use the backup toilet in the Russian part of station, which is kind of ironic, because the main toilet was produced and installed by Russians only last year. They will try to repair the toilet, but if it fails then its back to the era of urine bags.

This might not be as bad as it seems, as it might give the guys upo there the feeling of the original moon mission and maybe inspire them to even greater deeds in the station.

Added to the article is a picture of the urine collection bag from the NASA website.
