[eBelgium] The "oppositions" hypocrisy

Good day Belgium,

As many know from my previous article the "opposition" stole the elections and Aries Sun was elected president. Until now, after a week and 1/4 of his term is already over he finally revealed his big plan. He wrote an article where he laid out his plans. I was quite surprised to read the article because it goes exactly against what the "opposition" have been fighting for.

The plan is to create Citizen’s National Assembly a place where all eBelgian citizens are able to discuss State affairs and the State matters and have a say and a vote in everything. They want to do this ingame Directly, openly with full transparency. Giving the right to participation to all of eBelgian citizens. and they want to make eBelgium Congress would from now on serve primarily and solely, as a purely advisory chamber; confirming laws, MPP-s and all other sorts of legislative acts making them just button pushers.

It's funny how the "opposition" has been fighting for years to remove meta from eBelgium and when the "forum elite" starts to do just that and remove everything ingame that the "opposition" wants to add more meta by adding a new decision-making body.


1. Adds more meta while opposition wanted to remove all meta elements

Since day one that they started the "opposition" has been fighting anything meta, anything that is not ingame and according to how the game is played. They wanted to remove anything and everything including the forum and irc which are both very useful tools. For instance, they claim that they do not have to follow the immigration law because they have the right to push the button and allow the individual congressman to let in whoever they want and they have been letting in people and not follow meta-rules. This is going exactly against this and shows, in my opinion, the hypocrisy and how they change their stances even if it is the core what they stand for if it is a way for them to get what they want. It shows blatant double standards and exposes how they will do anything to get (more) power.

2. It's not enforceable.
One of the major flaws in this idea that it is in no way enforceable, you all eBelgian citizens to vote on matters and congressman just being button pushers who vote the way the majority has voted. This goes against what you stand for and been fighting for, you wanted congressman being able to do as they want because they are elected and have the right to do as they please. The main problem is that there is no way to force the congressman to actually vote the way they are supposed to be voting for according to the Citizen’s National Assembly making it powerless and toothless. Any such institution would only be effecting by the grace of congressman willing to follow said institution but are not obligated to.

3. Not the Presidents decision needs congress approval
It's fine and dandy that a president has an idea, I actually like that a president has plans but the problem is although he elected to lead the country there are limitations to his power. There is a separation of power between the legislative, executive and judicial branches and there are lines between those three. The executive branch cannot just decide how legislative branch makes their decisions. This would need to be discussed in congress, it would need to be voted on and it would need to be made into law and also the constitution would need to be amended. Without this, the president's plan is dead in the water because it has no validity.

4. Obvious power grab ploy
Even if they have taken the presidency by illicit means they have not been able to get a majority in congress. They seem to be not very confident that they will if they propose something like this but even if they get a majority for some things you need more than 50% majority which they will never get. With this plan, if they can get enough people to be active in the Citizen’s National Assembly they think they can push trough their idea. It would be easier to get a majority there especially if you have more accounts under your control who will mindlessly follow them like sheep. This has nothing to do with democracy but with control and power. For more than 4 years now they have not gotten any power and really showed that they were willing put any effort into wanting to be a productive part of our community.


The president Aries Sun, his supporters and the whole "opposition" have shown their true colors, they have shown that what they have been fighting for has been a farce, purely rhetorical statement. They are going exactly against what they have been saying that they wanted all these years. It shows their insincerity, it shows how they have been dishonest and that they are not willing to fight what they claim to stand for.
