Up All Night to get Woldy

We’re Up all Night to get Woldy

Hello citizens!

My name is Woldy, and I am writing today to issue a brief announcement:

I am putting myself forward to run for President on the 5th of June.

The campaign song!

If you are wondering why I want to run; things have begun to get turbulent. As such I decided to get back into governmental politics, having spent the past months reforming and leading Parliament and as Minister of Defense. I now feel confident and dedicated to the Presidency over June, a month in which I have little to do before beginning my postgrad thesis.

However, this month I am taking a slightly different approach to the more stagnant construction of political campaigns in that I am actively seeking the views and wants to the Great British public. Which is why I have spent a lot of time contacting as many people as I can asking them to message me or to fill out this poll (feel free if you haven’t already) to get a true idea of what people want, one untainted by party political forces and genuinely representative of the proverbial people.

I am very pleased to say that in just the few short days that have passed, I have already received hundreds of responses, and although I haven’t gone through them all yet, I intend to go through and construct some manifestos for you next week. In the meantime however, I thought I would give you some little teasers as well as answer some FAQ’s.

Talk is essential!

Talks is essential, and one thing I have been asking is how well informed people are. Obviously I cannot say too much without risking this article itself becoming a manifesto, but here are some key points which I already have planned, and which I hope mesh well with the views of the public:

Our word of the day is overhaul, and that’s largely what I have planned for you. We will be overhauling how and when we communicate with the public to tackle the atmosphere of ignorance which people feel they are engulfed in, as well as making it easier for the public to contact and hold to account the executive through regular polls and surveys, serving as a conduit from the public straight to the President.

Another thing that I am planning to overhaul is - you guessed it - the military! I have a plan for a national military, and without saying too much before manifesto time I believe it is a very good idea, and all that remains is to crunch the numbers to ensure its sustainability. I was happy that my poll revealed that many people wanted to alter how our military power is channeled, and I am very happy with the layout of this plan so far. Again, I shan’t divulge too many details as it is very early on in election time, but it will definitely be an idea worth attempting, regardless of who wins the election.

Hopefully these two teasers will tide you over until the manifesto is released in full next week; they serve mainly to let you know these two big issues are not being neglected!

Lets fix it!

Now on to some of the more 'about me' answers that various people have asked, and the obligatory 'who am I' section in all candidature articles (though I hope to remain brief) 🙂

I am Mr Woldy! The current Minister of Defence with my buddy Bohemond4, and recently Speaker of the House of Commons. Other notable virtues involve a wide range of roles, including Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and Home Affairs and Secretary General and Director of Internal affairs in an alliance slightly older citizens may remember; Phoenix. For a full and more detailed account of who and what I am, if it interests you, I'd suggest hoping over to the Wiki. (Though it is a little out of date, something I can hopefully find the time to fix soon, feel free to ask me anything else you may want to know!)

However, if you are wondering why I would try to squash all the stuff I have done into one brief paragraph it is simply because I would prefer to share my enthusiasm, passion and attitude towards the eUK than my past within it. Those who follow my newspaper may get the impression that I am very much a community player, a social and political commentator, as well as someone interested in triumphing your representatives; Congress. you may also have read my exploration of different 'ideal' modes of governance, what lead me to propose changes in attitudes surrounding Congress, and picked up on my unrelenting philanthropic work, being an individual who puts the vast majority of his resources into helping newer players; recent schemes include the Royal Welcomes (link below), the Royal Writers and my newer player-focused MU.

It is these community values which I feel the eUK needs right now, I have the experience and drive to do a fab job, and the attitude and willingness to tackle the internal divisions that have developed in our fine country. Not only that, but to have buckets of fun whilst we do it. 🙂

Thanks,
HM Woldy I,

OBE, KCVS, MC, HRH.
