2ȼ for Chile

Day 1,578, 16:42 Published in USA USA by Blank Keating

I am angry, gentlemen. I am angry because of this.

Anyone with a modicum of experience in TERRA should know that Argentina is not TERRA. They were barely ever TERRA, and they'll never be TERRA again. Simply put, Argentina doesn't like us. Their expectations for our assistance were ludicrously high when they left in 2011 and they'd be even more ludicrously high if they rejoined - and I'm willing to bet everything to my name that they never will.

The whole conflict was about resource bonuses, a big country doing anything possible to maximize their gains. That's in their rights as a neutral country, yes, but don't mistake this as some righteous war against a ONE country, because it's not. They would've done the same to a neutral country, or any small country that was in their way of their 100/100 bonuses. New Zealand is of puppet state status at best, they are not worth a war effort, and they're not worth dragging Australia and Chile through the roughshod for.

We owe nothing to Argentina. They are a neutral country, allies or not, we owe allegiance to EDEN and TERRA before them. The fact that the USA voted in favor of alienating an allied country to gain brownie points with a neutral country (who will always be a neutral country) is terribly deluded and foolhardy. This sends a horrible message to the small countries that have relied on us in the past, that we are willing to sell them down the river for someone else as long as they're bigger and not overtly pro ONE. The USA should've been the voice of reason here, and I'm disappointed in the people who contributed to the decision for this nearsighted measure. I might not be active in TERRA anymore, but I still know where Chile's heart was and where Argentina's was. The former was in TERRA, the latter was in the mirror.

Hopefully Chile doesn't turn to ONE now that we've left them in the cold, and they consult EDEN or stay neutral at least. I ask my fellow Americans to fight for Chile if they find themselves under attack in the meantime. I'm confident they would've done it for us.

Until next time,
