[UKGOV] UK Today, Day 1430

Day 1,430, 00:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Good Day and welcome to UK Today!

THE NEWS

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of UK Today.

In the news today:

- MoHA gives us the shortest update this month!

- eUK Pub Quiz Confirmed!

- National Newspaper Association Returns!

-Sad Temujin94 is sad

We decided to keep it brief today, as Friday's edition will be EXTRA Meghan FUN SIZED!

With great pleasure, the Ministry of Home Affairs is proud to announce the return of "The eUK Pub Quiz".

This event is usually a runaway success, and we hope that the up-and-coming-like-your-frerking-in-an-elevator Quiz will be too!

The quiz will be held THIS Friday (the 21st) at 9pm.

Now, onto the difficult bit. The Quiz is hosted in a IRC Room (Basically a SAFE internet chat room). If you don't know how to use IRC, you have until friday to learn! You can find one guide HERE, and another HERE

If you've managed to do all that, then join the channel "eWoldy" at 8pm, for the pre-game action!

There might even be an afterparty in #MoHA (Whoah, party!)

You should be able to find a team to play in this, but if you can't, I suggest you get onto the eUK forums, and make a post asking for team mates HERE. Teams should have a maximum of 5 players, and team captains should PM "Mr Woldy" in-game.

In Summary:

- Pub Quiz @ 9pm, Friday 21st
- In #eWoldy (on the Rizon IRC server)
- Teams of no more than 5!
- Enter by PM to Mr Woldy

A prize to the first person to PM me (Jimbojoy) and tell me which song I referenced in the above passage!

The National Newspaper Association is an excellent program which encourages new and old journalists alike to continue writing quality articles. The greatest articles and newspapers are recognised by the NNA and are given gold/silver/bronze awards, any is a high commendation of your article or paper should you receive one.
Karacticus will be running the NNA, so if you see a particularly excellent article, or if there is a paper you have always admired, then you should send him a message and tell him about it! The esteemed Karacticus can then review any suggestions in addition to his own extensive research, and hand out the prestigious awards accordingly.

Amidst all the great news, excitement and general bewonderment. There has been one crushing tragedy, which is already being felt in the entire eUK: Temujin94 is sad. That's right, our magnificent leader is feeling low, because he misses Horice.
Horice has been around since forever, and always has been a highly achieving mischievous fountain of sheer wit. His articles are highly acclaimed, and every post he makes in the eUK forums is entertaining for all.
However, it is no more, for Horice has left, he's eaten himself and now is gone from this world. 🙁

Remember
In your entertainment for this month we are running with a Pokemon theme. To that end, in this UK Today and in following issues, there will be pokemon hidden here and there. For those who wish to take part and be in with a chance of winning a prize and becoming a pokemon master, we are running a little competition called "Gotta Catch 'em All!". When you find yourself a pokemon in an article, send a PM to Invalidation with the name of the pokemon you've seen and where you found it. A record will be kept and whoever catches the most by the end of the month will be named pokemon master, and prizes will be given out to the best pokemon trainers.
