Welcome to New Warfare
Sir Gulden Draak
Greetings citizens of the eWorld. Yesterday, I was reading this very good article by Fitisin which I encourage you all to read. This article, combined with the fact that bazooka’s now inflict 10,000 damage per hit has inspired me to write this article, on what I would like to call Welcome to New Warfare. I would like to highlight just a few points on what these new changes mean for both the political and military modules of our great nation. Lets dive in:
1. If you are going to play the military module, you will have to join a Military Unit
If this wasn’t a fact before, it is certainly a fact now with the increased damage done by bazookas. Any citizen serious about wielding a great deal of damage for their country, or perhaps winning a battle hero will join a military unit. There is just no other way around it, without laying down some serious real life money for gold. Just like the old days when gold packs paved the way for a citizen to get a battle hero, bazookas are now the new currency. Why wait for a f*cking scope to appear, when all you have to do is follow your military units battle orders and receive your daily bazooka.
Join a military unit and get your daily bazooka
2. DoD orders will likely go extinct
The new media module put a heavy hurt on the DoD orders, and the rise of Military Units with the battle orders right on your homepage will likely kill them. Unless the DoD orders match a citizens unit orders, there is no incentive to follow them. Sure you could argue national pride, but free candy bars and a bazooka will beat national pride 9 times out of 10. I suspect in the coming weeks, we will experience the death of the DoD orders. There is simply no reason to follow them anymore.
R.I.P DoD
3. The Presidents role as Commander and Chief will decrease, but his role as a politician will increase
The new military units pretty much kill the CP’s role as Commander and Chief. Yes, he has the DoD orders and the campaign of the day button, but once again unless those are in line with a citizens unit orders no one will follow them. Again free stuff > non-enforceable orders. That being said, I do believe that a presidents role as a politician will increase. The CP’s new role will now be to stay in constant communication with unit commanders, and state why they should change their orders to a particular location. The CP must now be persuasive and good with words. Unit commanders may chose not to follow the CP’s orders, but remember the CP still has some powerful buttons at his disposal.
4. For the every day citizen, military units will become the new parties
As much as it pains me to say this, as someone who loves the political module, I am afraid this is true. Aside from aspiring to be in Congress, there is little to no reason to join a political party for most citizens. Citizens looking for a group to join for a sense of camaraderie will likely turn to military units. They have free stuff, and a direct wall to post questions or thoughts on. There are no off site forums, no IRC, and it is simple and easy to use for the new citizen. The average citizen doesn’t spend a lot of time on this game, and my guess is that they will chose to spend it in a military unit for free stuff. Sure citizens may join a political party, just as dead weight, but the overall activity of parties will likely decrease as citizens shift their energy to military units.
Welcome to the new party
5. Can we finally achieve unity?
Unlike the previous four posts above, this is more of a question to all of you. There has been much talk about overall military unity between the two different branches in this country. Will the rise of military units, and the rise of importance of commanders foster unity or will things remain the way they are? Will military unit commanders reach out to others, and try to collaborate on orders, or will we remain in a deadlock?
In closing, whether good or bad from your point of view things are going to change. It is my hope that as a nation, we use the game mechanics at our disposal as efficiently as possible. Hope you enjoyed the article, remember to please vote, sub, and pass it along to your friends. Until next time.....
Stay thirsty my friends,
Sir Gulden Draak

Ya, if we are going to have an organised military now it's just gonna be the MU leaders. No one else even needs to join.

First person in the second spot.
😃
This makes me have a sad.
I personally use my free energy bar and bazooka to kill the DoD orders daily
We already coordinate MU orders in the NSC.

Totally agree. Thought about this briefly but didn't end up writing about it in my article about similar subject matter (MUs). And sort of agree about MUs as new parties. I think there will be more mobility between MUs than there is between parties though. It's still to be seen how loyal 2clickers will be to their MUs over a long period of time.

Voted....Although I disagree about the importance and influence of political parties in the future, because it'll be the same. Probably, the admins will upgrade the political module too. They just couldn't wait to present the Military module and the new political module will be on the way. Good Article ......
This is Gulden Draak at his best!

I loved the article. However, offsite forums and IRC are part of the game. I know as a fed that our offsite forum beats any MU shout box. I love the free stuff, but parties are a completely different part of the game.
This will be true until the v3 rollout. That will change a lot of stuff, and you'll all shit brix.
Nice beer mug! Voted as usual 🙂
Oh Pfeiffer feed us baby birds, give us some juicy gossip.
