For those of you who want to know the full story behind all the election drama in the Lib Party (currently the "This Is Not a Party" Party), this article will tell you the story as told by Jelly9473 on irc. This does not contain the viewpoint of NIKAN so it might be biased.

Then I lol'd...
So there you have it, a short summary of what is going on in the lib party during these elections as told by Jelly9473. I would, of course also like to hear NIKAN's side of the story. So make sure to also get his side of the story before drawing conclusions.
I will add more pics later, and maybe write again later.
Oh yeah, and I'm planning on running for congress...

That's what happens when you try to regulate the game mechanics through the metagame. My advise: DON'T DO IT!
This is also why I've always lobbied for residency requirements, whether in a Party or a Congressional Region -- as well as not publicizing the vote totals until the election is over.
I'll pipe in on this:
We in the Libertarian Party have never been big fans of PP primaries. Just announce your intention to run, I say. The best person will be selected. And this is how it has worked for so long.
That was not the case this month and it has apparently led to a lot of whinging and butthurt.
As for getting NIKAN/Lover's side of the story. Don't bother. The dude is a liar. He was the one who abused the power given to him to change the vote tallies. He is the one who registered multiple accounts with mailinator email address. (or perhaps he and syrup).
The point is:
I am disappoint.
As a member [somewhat] of the Lib party, this disappoints me, but it was only destined to happen. The parties organization is out of whack. To even say it has organization is a long shot.
Its honestly time for real leaders like Iasov, Marxus, S0beit, Jamarcus and even myself 😛 to sit down and really organize the leadership of the party. Because honestly, until leadership is organized, the situation that we had last month is just going to keep repeating itself.
As to the issue of PP primaries, I have always been in support of them. Its the safest possible way to elect the PP. First and foremost it prevents confusion, and secondly it will always help prevent PTO's.

well i believe that him choosing to endorse another person is fine (maybe unethical but fine) but changeing the picture for the party to vote for her is a little over the line
Interesting...
@Mindless7805: Not just endorsing, but essentially claiming jelly was a PTO candidate. Bad juju. NIKAN won't be touching positions for a while.
It's perfectly acceptable for the outgoing PP to endorse another candidate.
What is completely unacceptable is all he has done.
Well that's shitty.
Subs and vtd, but yeah quotes the word of Soren Nelson: that's shitty :/
ok at the risk of looking like an even bigger noob than I already do...
"This is also why I've always lobbied for residency requirements, whether in a Party or a Congressional Region -- as well as not publicizing the vote totals until the election is over."
Isn't residency already a pre-requirement for candidates?
Also, I agree, there shouldn't be any access to vote totals until the election is over. I know it would crimp the style of all of those great last minute strategists. However, as a result, it might make for more involvement by all party members in the lead up to an election.
It would certainly add some excitement to the final tally which as it stands now, is pretty much a foregone conclusion and anti-climatic to say the least.
Also, I like the idea of a primary. It doesn't necessarily dictate who to vote for, but at least gives a fair indication to new players, or uninformed 2 clickers, of a legitimate candidate to vote for.
Rather than primaries, I prefer debates. They don't have to be knock-down drag-out debates nor do they need to be formal. A public debate is, I feel, an effective way of showing which of the potential candidates can dedicate the time necessary to being a Party President. Most "for real" candidates would show up on IRC for the debate while those who couldn't make it, even when there was an attempt to work it into their schedule, would not make good PPs anyway.
NIKAN is the one who wanted the primary in the first place due to a PTO that he fabricated. There never was a PTO threat, he forced the primary down our throats, he totally fucked up our forums and he deserves no respect.

Here's my version of events anyway, from beginning to end. Thanks for linking this bro
"Re-shout! UNBAN GLOVE! UNBAN GLOVE! GLOVE IS LOVE! GLOVE IS LOVE!"
@Myst Forever: Residency requirements would require an established pre-set amount of time that somebody would need to be a member of a Party or a resident of a Region before they would be allowed to vote in that Party or Region. This would prevent last minute movement from Parties or Regions to influence an election.
