[Appleby] Domestic Manifesto with a Cut Price Kitchen
Sir Humphrey Appleby
Edit: Before I begin, a vote for SHA is a vote to lock up Maddog
Hello again Britain!
Today I hope to outline my domestic policy manifesto for the January Premiership, which I’ve been developing for a considerable amount of time. Hopefully you will agree that the proposed changes are a step in the right direction for the eUK.
You’ve got Maids!
Ministry of Home Affairs
At current, the Ministry of Home Affairs is the largest ministry out of all of them; and usually one of the most inactive because of this. I feel that this ancient Ministry would have more success if departments were atomised and separated in relation to their purpose; so to help focus on the task at hand. That is why these departments would be create😛
-Ministry of Information
-Ministry of Lulz
-Ministry of Media
The Ministry of Information would be based around the upkeep and development of up to date information, be it for the countries Wiki or just for records. The Ministry of Information will also look at ways to advertise in the game to get people onto the forums, as well as managing a second citizen fee for signing up and reaching ~50 posts.
The Ministry for Lulz will look into ways of enhancing the current forum community and develop more forum games and activities to try and mix the various eUK inhabitants together outside of the normal political parties/institutional level. This’ll include things similar to the Royalists/Parliamentarians battles, as well as national competitions to enjoy. A budgeted amount of gold decided by the MoFA and MoLuLz will be allocated to awards and prizes.
The Ministry of Media is, to its name, to maintain the NNA. However, this Ministry shall gain the responsibility of co-ordinating government articles so that they can reach the top 5 without interfering with private news stories and a steady release of information in a consistent manner.
Parliament.
Ministry of Legislative Affairs
Legislation is something I would like to see in the hands of the legislature rather than executive government; and the position of MoLA I always find correlates the laws of the eUnited Kingdom in favour of the government more than Congress. I would thus like to re-establish the role of the Speaker – this time elected on the 30th of each month by Congress to represent their views in cabinet.
An additional helpful aspect of the Speaker would be to design laws that Parliament would find useful; as well as playing a more prominent role in teaching newer MPs the ropes of the Commons and ensuring strange bills remain in PD. Additionally, I would like a smaller panel chaired by a Deputy Speaker to oversee citizenship applications – in conjunction with the MoFA.
Recruitment inspiration picture I randomly found
Ministry of Recruitment
I recognise that recruitment remains an integral part of government, and that a baby boom is needed in the eUK. I also recognise, however, that player retention and activity is just as important. Thus, the Ministry of Recruitment would have an additional duty to help the Ministry of Lulz in creating competitions to get people onto the forums.
Once they have people active on the forums for say, ~50 posts – these citizens should be entitled to a second citizen fee of food and guns with a small amount of cash support to help keep them active and healthy in the eUK.
Medal of Technology :3
Ministry of Technology
I’d like to see this Ministry resurrected to help improve different technical functions of the eUK Government and its citizens. From improved mass mailers, to calculators and data processing; different objectives can be underlined by the Minister and people could help out in creating them. A competition will be held by the end of the month to decide who has built the best machine to help the eUK.
I hope you enjoyed my domestic manifesto; coming up next shall be my musings on the economy; which should be mildly interesting.
Thanks for voting 😁

Lovely stuff.

LOL - That is awful!
No new ideas, you actually removed most of it!
Worst manifesto ever!
Nice to see you read all of that in about 3 minutes Maddog

SHA PUT YOUR CAT ON HERE
Is SHA oppressing Maddog?
Hmm, I might even vote. 🙂
As the current MoHA I thought I'd comment.
Making Departments separate Ministrys does not work. It's been tried in the past many times and it just ends up with Ministers being lazy and a lot of people ending up not doing a lot of work. To be most efficient I'd just make them regular departments under the MoHA.
The Actual content of your manifesto is a bit on the short side. You don't really tell us what each of these "Ministrys" will do new.
The Information Ministry plan to give out a second citizen fee when a player hits 50 posts is a bit silly in my opinion. It's been brought up before and rejected because of the fact it would lead to spam. It would also be difficult to track who has actually met the 50 post criteria and such. You would also face the risk of inactivity afterward so in the long run it would cost government time and money with little benefit. Ask the Netherlands how implementing the second citizen fee worked for them.
As for Lulz I'd like some example of new games you would implement. I count 14 active game threads from this month. I think thats enough so I don't think we need a ton more.
Media: Nothing new here. Not much to say.
I won't speak about MoLA and MoTech as they're not my strong points. But looking at MoR it just looks as if you've c+p'd the whole Ministry of Information bit.
One final note.
"Today I hope to outline my domestic policy manifesto for the January Premiership, which I’ve been developing for a considerable amount of time."
- Uuh. You only found out you were running yesterday after Thorrold said he wouldn't run. Lol
This was intended to be constructive criticism and not trolling. Hope it helps you with your campaign. I think I'll be voting Frerk though.
Kevy Shabado has clearly overlooked the fact he is TUP and is therefore just trolling. Sorry.
Indeed, several of those ministries are the same it appears.
Figure out exactly what the MoI, MoR and MoLulz are going to do... you have a shared role for them all atm which begs the question: why are they seperate?
"Ask the Netherlands how implementing the second citizen fee worked for them."
You can ask Belgium too, from my experience it brings people to the forum. They register and most of them just end up quitting anyway. For smaller countries this is much more advantageous as it might bring 2 or 3 people on the forum that will stick (but you'll end up giving 30-40 people something for that).
The ratio active/people you paid something to is very very low. Don't be mistaken. Setting a number of posts on it will lead to spam that is true, but also push a lot of young people not to try. They see : "50 posts that are not spam". Most of them won't even try and you will lose them before they even start.
Do it either directly (just post on the forum) or don't do it. Every number of message will either be to high for them to care (as the fee will be low) or to low to prevent spam.
50 was just a rough estimate; I do agree it may be a bit too much. Perhaps something more like 10?
you had my vote in the first line
>However, this Ministry shall gain the responsibility of co-ordinating government articles so that they can reach the top 5 without interfering with private news stories and a steady release of information in a consistent manner
How are you going to do this? Give Minister of Media access to all govt orgs? That's a bit of a security risk for a minor government minister, isn't it?
> 50 was just a rough estimate; I do agree it may be a bit too much. Perhaps something more like 10?
Shouldn't you have thought of that before? And read back : 10 will lead to spam 😃
This is the man!
once again all the critism comes from the left wing.
anyway I like the part where you put lock up Maddog
Vote sir Humphrey
^Why wouldn't it?
Kevy destroyed you

Forgive me (a lowly canuck) for intruding, but isn't Jhorlin a president for the UKRP?
Avlana 😁😁😁
And Thumbwar, for being a lowly canuck you made a very sensible comment, good job.
