[Appleby] Domestic Manifesto with a Cut Price Kitchen

Day 1,136, 08:52 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Edit: Before I begin, a vote for SHA is a vote to lock up Maddog

Hello again Britain!

Today I hope to outline my domestic policy manifesto for the January Premiership, which I’ve been developing for a considerable amount of time. Hopefully you will agree that the proposed changes are a step in the right direction for the eUK.

You’ve got Maids!

Ministry of Home Affairs

At current, the Ministry of Home Affairs is the largest ministry out of all of them; and usually one of the most inactive because of this. I feel that this ancient Ministry would have more success if departments were atomised and separated in relation to their purpose; so to help focus on the task at hand. That is why these departments would be create😛

-Ministry of Information
-Ministry of Lulz
-Ministry of Media

The Ministry of Information would be based around the upkeep and development of up to date information, be it for the countries Wiki or just for records. The Ministry of Information will also look at ways to advertise in the game to get people onto the forums, as well as managing a second citizen fee for signing up and reaching ~50 posts.

The Ministry for Lulz will look into ways of enhancing the current forum community and develop more forum games and activities to try and mix the various eUK inhabitants together outside of the normal political parties/institutional level. This’ll include things similar to the Royalists/Parliamentarians battles, as well as national competitions to enjoy. A budgeted amount of gold decided by the MoFA and MoLuLz will be allocated to awards and prizes.

The Ministry of Media is, to its name, to maintain the NNA. However, this Ministry shall gain the responsibility of co-ordinating government articles so that they can reach the top 5 without interfering with private news stories and a steady release of information in a consistent manner.

Parliament.

Ministry of Legislative Affairs

Legislation is something I would like to see in the hands of the legislature rather than executive government; and the position of MoLA I always find correlates the laws of the eUnited Kingdom in favour of the government more than Congress. I would thus like to re-establish the role of the Speaker – this time elected on the 30th of each month by Congress to represent their views in cabinet.

An additional helpful aspect of the Speaker would be to design laws that Parliament would find useful; as well as playing a more prominent role in teaching newer MPs the ropes of the Commons and ensuring strange bills remain in PD. Additionally, I would like a smaller panel chaired by a Deputy Speaker to oversee citizenship applications – in conjunction with the MoFA.

Recruitment inspiration picture I randomly found

Ministry of Recruitment
I recognise that recruitment remains an integral part of government, and that a baby boom is needed in the eUK. I also recognise, however, that player retention and activity is just as important. Thus, the Ministry of Recruitment would have an additional duty to help the Ministry of Lulz in creating competitions to get people onto the forums.

Once they have people active on the forums for say, ~50 posts – these citizens should be entitled to a second citizen fee of food and guns with a small amount of cash support to help keep them active and healthy in the eUK.

Medal of Technology :3

Ministry of Technology

I’d like to see this Ministry resurrected to help improve different technical functions of the eUK Government and its citizens. From improved mass mailers, to calculators and data processing; different objectives can be underlined by the Minister and people could help out in creating them. A competition will be held by the end of the month to decide who has built the best machine to help the eUK.

I hope you enjoyed my domestic manifesto; coming up next shall be my musings on the economy; which should be mildly interesting.

Thanks for voting 😁.
