[PCP] Communes, prosperity and you.
People's Initiative
Greetings to all eUK citizens,
I’m writing this article to highlight again the beneficial aspects of working on the communes run by the PCP. Some of you, and especially the newer players, may not be aware of their existence, or what benefits they can bring to you.
With the onset of eRepublik Rising our country, like many others, is currently struggling to come to terms with the many changes to the game. The change which has been most turbulent is of course the economic module. It is most worrying that our minimum wage currently works out at 64p per day after taxes (working an 8 hour day). Being barely enough to buy the most basic of food which offers 1.5 health/happiness per day, along with the fact that the majority of new players can’t afford houses, means that many new players cannot maintain their wellness and happiness.
The solution? To join a commune. Instead of barely having enough to keep yourself alive in these hard times, you will have enough subsistence to maintain both wellness and happiness. As well as this it will also enable you to study, allowing you to further your productivity in the future instead of having to skip training or studying in order to maintain your strength.
You will be paid minimum wage yes, but you will be provided with better food than you would otherwise be able to afford. Giving you time to study and increase your skill. Even if perhaps you are put off by the political ideals of such a system - you can still choose to utilise this opportunity to advance yourself so that you can enter the private sector again when you are more experienced.
This of course will not apply to many older players who have a well paid job, but consider this. We only have to look at another excellent article from Kevy Kev Kev Junior shabado (link) to see that we are facing a massive crisis in terms of population. One thing we don’t need is to exacerbate it further with an increasing problem of player retention. V2 I imagine is quite daunting at first, when you haven’t been slowly introduced to it like pre-V2 players. By working on the communes you can help to support those newer players, thereby helping our country. I know that if I joined this game and entered a downward spiral of health/happiness degradation, it wouldn’t be long before I stopped logging in. You can help prevent this by helping to produce food to be redistributed to those who aren’t as experienced as yourself.
So whether you are a new player who needs support in an economically troubling time, or an older player who wishes to help new players and break free of the exploitation of private companies - consider joining a commune today.

Do you have need for builders?
Unfortunately not at the moment, our housing communes aren't currently operational but will be in the near future. Sorry Kemal
Thank you very much. Good luck with the project, comrades!

See that guy in the front of the picture with the AK-47? If this "Commune" is anything like others in the eWorld, the moment you step out of line, he cuts you off at the knees.

I joined this game yesterday. Today, after taxes, I got 1.5GBP.
That's nearly 3 times what you mentioned.
There may be minimum wage, but that doesn't mean everyone works at it forever. It's good for companies that need quick, cheap labour from new players, and by the next day (in my case anyway) they're already able to provide for themselves by finding a new job or getting a raise.
