Top 10 Most Influential Canadians, Holiday Edition!

Day 763, 05:20 Published in Canada Canada by Alias Vision

It is the time of the year for giving and in the spirit of the season the Freeholder Press has decided to dish out some praise and accolades.

Welcome to the Holiday Edition of the Top 10 Most Influential Canadians!

Like previous editions, this list is sure to generate some controversy. Like previous editions I urge the readers to contribute in the comments who they think is more deserving than the names already appearing on the list and where I've made important ranking mistakes.

**"Tamas" Note to the reader** Although subject to the bias of the author, this list is not politically motivated and never was. If it appears tilted towards certain individuals or parties, it is likely because it's the environment best known. We can, after all, only speak about what we know.

10. Banach.
I can already hear the boo birds coming out for this one even though he dropped from 1st to 10th. It's really quite simple... many citizens leave and nobody cares. Banach sneezes and it seemingly makes the top 5 news stories in Canada. It would be a nice gesture at this time of year to subscribe to his paper and give him his most ardent wish!

9. No Idea.
Not as much a public figure but by now one of the most well known. His misfortune will make the fortunes of others. In a nation that has no love for lotteries, his was a success. The funds generated (195 gold) have been used and will be used to help others. His two companies of the highest quality will make the two winners, Sir DeLaShaunRon Smith and badmofo, instantly wealthy whether or not they retain them. It is a bittersweet nomination on the list but one well earned this month.

8. Derek Harland.
Has he been quiet lately? Yes he has. Does he still hold a large measure of influence following his defeat at the hands of Jacobi during the last Presidential elections? Yes he does. Some individuals and parties are holding out running for the top job or endorsing a candidate in anticipation of what Derek will do. If he runs, they won't. If he doesn't run, the field is suddenly quite crowded. That earns him a spot on this list.

7. TaiwanPanda.
Everyone wants the friendly Panda to play on their team. The Freeholder Press took a good natured jab at his self-promotion work last edition and so this time we must acknowledge that he has let his reputation speak for himself. Still the hardest working businessman in our minds and still offering excellent products at competitive prices.

6. Nosyt.
Hyuu... 'nuff said.

5. Tyler F Durden.
His streak of personal triumph at the helm of the CPF has now reached 4. With the help of the rest of the party leadership he is transforming the CPF from political powerhouse into an all inclusive, one stop Canadiana institution. From cradle to grave, Tyler and his followers will transform you into a productive worker, capable soldier and accomplished politician. It is an ambitious project and one that has the potential to redraw the way Canada functions as a nation.

4. Ramizeth.
Too long have the military been ignored in this list so this edition an effort was made to more fairly look at their impact. Ramizeth provided the perfect example of just how influential he and the CAF is. In his Congress address he brought forward the problem of the very high cost of guns in Canada. He also made everyone realize that the reason why there is a vibrant and well developed gun industry in the nation is largely due to the CAF's buy Canadian mandate. Did he manage to change the price of guns? No, but simply by speaking out he changed the market which has dropped $0.40 since.

3. Citizen B.
Multi-term Industry Minister. Multi-term member of Congress. Still to this day the most effective grassroots momentum builder. Any party, cause or industry Citizen B associates himself with must immediately be considered a credible force. He has the ability to gather people around him and recruit from all walks of life. One wonders if one day his path will lead to a Presidential campaign.

2. Scorpius.
Privately someone said recently, &quot😉on't underestimate to capacity for Scorpius to get people elected." High praise, especially coming from a political opponent. That is when I realized that he could no longer linger in the bottom of this list but must assume his rightful position of kingmaker... right behind the king himself at number 2. Scorpius is also the fastest Canadian to achieve the mogul award and the first born and bred to achieve it twice (Scrabman having accumulated most of his subscription in the US).

1. Jacobi.
Jacobi it seems will always be a polarizing figure. His opponents tend to want him out at all cost, his defenders are almost fanatical in their loyalty to him. Even when he lets his now well publicized tempter and sharp tongue get the better of him, no bad press sticks to him for any length of time. Having once criticized him for his communication skills, the Freeholder Press must now admit that Jacobi is very good at getting the information he wants disseminated out and he controls the messages better than most. For the longest serving President of Canada, it appears like the country is his sandbox.

And so concludes the Holiday edition of the Top 10 Most Influential Canadians. I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to add your comments with your thoughts and feedback.
