How to Vote and do it right!!

Day 734, 00:20 Published in Australia Australia by Si Botak
In two days the Senate elections are on again.

A number of Articles have been coming out of late with the usual barrage of Senate Hopefuls. I'm not gonna bore everyone with a lowly voted rehash of what I stand for... that much is available

here with my initial presentation and article

and

here at the AMP Wiki Page

Guys/Gals - what I will say is this...

1) Vote for Active players who can CONTRIBUTE to the Senate. As an AAR Squad Leader and a vocal citizen ingame, and also vocal player in the few forums my duties currently require me to be on, I'm an established and known quantity. I will be active to vote and represent the People.

2) Vote for players who appreciate what the duties entail. Don't risk Lulz Proposals. Vote for people who you KNOW to be reliable. You wouldn't ask your RL member of parliament to act like an ass in parliament. Indeed, RL most Aussies dislike politicians precisely because they don't ever meet our expectations of their responsibilities. Amirite??

3) Vote for players who will report back to the people via Newspapers on what they do in the Senate and Why. Some Senators are beginning to report on what measures they vote on and why. This transparency is great, and we need more of it. If I'm elected, I'll be doing likewise.

4) Vote for players who treat the process with enough respect to communicate why they want to be Senators. If there's no Presentation, No Shouts, why vote for them? They obviously don't care enough one way or another right?

5) Vote for the benefit of the country, not based on petty personal politics. The Senate is supposed to be YOUR representative body. Are you going to vote for a popular figure simply because they're popular, or for someone you think will listen to your interests regardless of who you are, what party you belong to, and which "group" (be it "Old Guard" or "New Guard&quot😉 that you affiliate yourself with? Personally I think the entire "New Player" vs "Old Guard" issue is an artificially created one used to further the agenda of some, and it's bullshyte. All of it. Rise above the personal agendas; Vote for someone who will think of the nation first.

If you vote with some of these things in mind, then you're doing the right thing. I hope that I've done enough and said enough to convince you that I'm one of the prospective Senators you should be voting for in two days time. I don't have the Senatorial experience. I don't have the big following, or the popularity. But I give a damn.

And I ask the eAustralian people to quite simply in two days to vote for people who give a damn. If I am not considered to be among that number, so be it - but for Gods' sake guys... it's our eCountry. Let's not screw it up.

Even if you don't intend to vote for me come Election Day, if you agree with the above, please Vote this Article up... maybe it might promote the right sentiments and the right platforms amongst our other Senate Hopefuls.

Cheers....
