Dear citizens,
We are fast approaching a new Presidential elections day. We have seen many well known, experienced candidates, as well as courageous new-comers. We would like to wish all of them good luck! These elections are particularly important, because this month's winners will be the first that will have to deal with the new Alliances rule. We are confident that new Presidents will carry us all towards a new era of eRepublik. An era in which we move from cold wars to genuine face-to-face wars. For more information about this change you may wish to read the message posted on the forum(It is quite in depth). Some citizens have asked that the new Alliances price rule should also take into account the “age-old-activated MPPs,” which creates inequality among different countries given the increased price. We are working on this, and very soon a decision on the matter will be made public in a future Insider.
Yesterday was a very busy day. After a series of consecutive losses, PEACE decided to launch a massive attack against Croatia as the main target, as well as other countries. Of course, almost immediately Resistance Wars started to pop-up everywhere, and also some regions started to 'dance'- being attacked and retreated from strategic purposes. The countries involved in yesterday's wars were: Serbia, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Slovenia, UK, Latvia, Croatia, USA, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Greece. And of course, their allies fighting through Alliances. Croatia secured all of it's under siege regions, as did Greece; however Finland lost a few regions.
Maintenance announcement:
On day 716 of the New World, the eRepublik servers will be taken offline starting at 04:00 AM (eRepublik time) for approximately 1 hour, due to a scheduled maintenance.

if you change old ACTIVATED MMP, I'll quit the damn game, we payed fair for those MMPs, its their fault that they activated it. ADMINS IF YOU CANGE THE OLD ACTIVATED MMP YOU COULD AS WELL RESTART THE GAME TO DAY 1

I don't really like these kind of articles, since I beliave that this newspaper should be about you informing us on importing things, like the warmodule, updates etc etc. This "story telling" is done by many others and there's really no point, unless you're giving out statistics in battle damage and such. And if you want some more constructive critisism, I think that you post too few articles with information. Atm we get 2 articles/week, and one of them is really just about battles. So, please more information, especially about the promised new economy!
But, yeah, good work and what not 😉

One thing I see, you guys only update this newspaper when you're going to maintenance..
well first of all, its quite obvious that admin likes EDEN more that PEACE. Shouldn't you be neutral?
Second thing is about those updates. Same shit happens with all free MMO games. This update (MPP update) is either to collect more real life money, or to make PEACE weaker. Anyways there is one thing for sure - small countries will fall as soon as their MPP's are over. I would also agree to kre5o, that if you will make this update, it would be best to just restart server to day 1. Why? Well first because many people will leave, also smaller countries would be history. Also you would get rid of inactive people.
So my point is do what you want to do, but do it fairly. I dont think, that you care about 1 or 10 people, but for me, i will leave this game if price of MPP will become 100 gold, because if that happens, there will be no point to play. Its like monopoly - stronger rules, weaker falls.

Isn't day 716 election day? Why would you schedule maintenance during election day? Wouldn't it be better to do it the day before, or the day after, or some other day that is not election day? Just wondering...

Normally we can pay 2-3 alliances max in our country and now after 30 days we have to struggle to get one.

PS: Why don't you remove that nonsense rule of the 5° biggest parties, at least for the presidential elections?, you know that the game's democracy it's just a lie..., make it real, 😉

I would welcome stronger servers, as yesterday at the end of the croatian battle the battlefield was almost inaccessible. You see, that battles are fought in the final 10 minutes, and the system is simply unable to handle the connections.

calm down my friend,they activated our mpps(croatian,finland,greece) again by attackin us yesterday,so there is no "old activated mpps"

Oh. My. God.
Before the battles in USA, I asked admins why there's no upkeep for the activated MPPs - the answer was that small countries cannot pay for them and would thus be unfair against big nations. Now you make a 180 degrees turn like this? Ridiculous.
It's large countries that attack, they can pay for their MPPs. Small countries cannot. I find it hilarious you decide on this *NOW*?

Don't bother, we don't care. Fix the goddamn headless chickens on EPIC FIGHTS! What is the purpose of this game if we can't play it like it is intended to?!

Damn it was about time to do something about that mpp-s that last for ages. Anyway in my opinion only active mpp-s should be the one you have signed in the moment of the attack, anything else is putting this game in position of perpetual stalemate.

I had not realized the 100+ days of my country being invaded didn't qualify as a face to face war.
