10 days to end, but a new one begins

Day 1,073, 00:14 Published in Canada Canada by Etemenanki

First off I would like to thank all of you in Ontartio and the rest of Canada for continuing to support me during my time in office. Just a few days ago I was once again elected to congress, and was immensely surprised to see myself receive the third highest number of votes, falling just behind former Prime Minister Dade Pendwyn and and venerable congress person Dr. Pain. I also want to thank EPIC specifically for giving me their support and continuing to run a strong field of candidates.

Votes.

22) Do you agree to transfer 24060 CAD from the country accounts to Canadian National Defense? This was a scheduled vote to continue to fund the CAF, with 1500 CAD going to the TCO to support them in their militia activities fighting for the interests of Canada. This vote came shortly after the budget was approved and was exactly what the CAF had requested they be funded with. It’s an odd number, but so far the specific funding seems to be going quite well. Voted yes. Motion Passed.

23) President of Greece proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Greece was in the middle of their take down of Turkey at this point, so it seemed only wise and prudent to continue to support our EDEN allies as they fought hard against Phoenix. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

24) Do you agree to transfer 959 HRK from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? Canada builds up a large amount of foreign currency in it’s treasury as foreign companies pay their import taxes to us. In the end this build up is a bit of a pain in the ass though because their can only be one donation vote up at any given point of time, meaning in a months time you can only possibly clear out 28-31 different types of currency, presuming you don’t bother to do any sort of regular donations of your own currency out of the treasury. Last time I counted, their were 66 different types of currency (not counting gold), so you can imagine it is basically impossible to clean out the treasury of foreign currency. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

25) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Poland? Poland, one of the big power houses of the eWorld, and a long time ally of Canada. Why would we not want to have an MPP with them? Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

26) Tax Change: Titanium: (no changes)? This would be what we call a experience vote. The requirements on these votes is that they be voted down, and if at all possible not have any particular changes to them. One of the truly popular forms of this vote is a tax change on a particular commodity, while not actually changing anything. This would be an example of one of those, and as you will see, there were a lot of them in this particular ten day span. These kinds of votes are popular near the end of a congressional term, because each motion grants a congressman 5 experience, and each vote cast towards a motion provides 1 experience point. Voted No. Motion Failed.

27) Do you agree to transfer 629 GRD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? More foreign currency to be donated out of the treasury and into the National Bank of Canada so that it can be converted to gold and used in a practical manner rather than simply sitting there. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

2😎 Tax Change: Foo😛 (no changes)? Experience vote, my how they just keep rolling. Voted No. Motion Failed.

29) Tax Change: Oil: (no changes)? Experience vote number 3. Voted No. Motion Failed.

30) Tax Change: Stone: (no changes)? Experience vote number 4. Voted No. Motion Failed.

31) Tax Change: Iron: (no changes)? Experience vote number 5. Voted No. Motion Failed.

32) Minimum wage change from 1.2 CAD to 1.11 CAD? Experience vote number 6. Voted No. Motion Failed.

33) Tax change: Moving Tickets (No changes)? Experience vote number 7. Voted No. Motion Failed.

34) Citizen fee change from 5 CAD to 5.01 CAD? Experience vote number 8. Voted No. Motion Failed.

35) Tax change: Grain (No Change)? Experience vote number 9. Voted No. Motion Failed.

36) Tax change: House: Income Tax 11% to 12%? Experience vote number 10. Voted no. Motion Failed.

37) Tax change: Defense System: Income Tax 11% to 12%? Experience vote number 11. Voted No. Motion Failed.

3😎 President of China proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? An MPP with our allies the Chinese, a potential up and coming power whom we have had some level of alliance with for a while now. Do we really need this MPP? What do you think? Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

39) Tax change: Stone (No Change)? Experience vote number 12. Voted no. Motion Failed.

40) Tax change: Moving Tickets? (No Change) Experience vote number 13. Voted No. Motion Failed.

41) Do you agree to transfer 400 ESP from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? A motion to move 400 ESP (Spanish) from the treasury and into our general funding use organization. We actually have been doing a pretty good job of moving these funds out of the treasury this past little while, and it is something we have started to talk about setting up a specific and constant roster of. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

42) Tax change: Artillery (Import from 80% to 10😵? Experience vote number 14. Voted Yes. Motion Failed.

43) Tax change: Food (No Change)? Experience vote number 15. Voted No. Motion Failed.

44) Tax change: Grain? (No Change)? Experience vote number 16. Voted No Motion Failed.

45) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with USA? Not sure why we would ever want to deny this particular alliance. The US has been one of our longest allies (though we did go to war with them way back when). Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

46) Tax change: House (No Change)? Experience vote number 17. Voted No. Motion Failed.

47) Tax change: Hospital (No Change)? Experience vote number 18. Voted No. Motion Failed.

4😎 Tax change: Rifle (No change)? Experience vote number 19. Voted No Motion Failed.

49) Citizen fee change from 5 CAD to 5.01 CAD? Experience vote number 20. Voted No. Motion Failed.

50) Tax change: Oil (No Change)? Experience vote number 21. Voted No. Motion Failed.

51) Tax change: Iron (No Change)? Experience vote number 22. Voted no. Motion Failed.

52) Tax change: Defense System (No Change)? Experience vote number 23. Voted no. Motion Failed.

53) Minimum wage change from 1.2 CAD to 1.21 CAD? Experience vote number 24. Voted no. Motion Failed.

54) Do you agree with the proposal to issue 0 CAD for 0 GOLD? Experience vote number 25. Voted no. Motion Failed.

55) Do you agree to transfer 24060 CAD from the country accounts to Canadian National Defense? Look at that, our basically weekly vote to fund the CAF and the TCO came up just as it was originally predicted to in the budget, and I was quite happy to see it happen. In the past, I have seen many budgets put forward saying that X amount of money would be directed towards a certain organization a certain number of times during the budget, but they were never specific as to when they would be put forward, and in actual practice seemed to simply come up when someone shouted they were almost out of money, and even then seemed to be put forward without an actual plan on how much money they would add up too. I personally have quite liked the system in the budget I came up with. Voted yes. Motion Passed.

56) Citizen fee change from 5 CAD to 6.66 CAD? Experience vote number 26. Voted No. Motion Failed.

57) Tax change: Food (No Change)? Experience vote number 29. Voted no. Motion Failed.

5😎 Minimum wage change from 1.2 CAD to 1.21 CAD? Experience vote number 28. Ha, I almost got you on the last one, either that or you just got really bored….I don’t blame you. Voted no. Motion Failed.

59) Tax change: Defense System (No change)? Experience vote number 29. Voted No. Motion Failed.

Congress.

Victory Bonds: Prime Minister Alias Vision chose to announce to congress on Oct 20th that he intended to start a bond drive in the hopes of finding and aquiring funds to both help replenish Canada’s stock pile, as well as to give us some funds should we choose to attack the UK, which look at that, we have done. In fact, it should be noted that the Prime Minister pushed the button 5 times at least before the admins decided to actually start the battles (these fives times were spaced out over a period of at least 4 or 5 days and were caused by some kind of serious bug) despite having taken the funds from our treasury. It’s tough to say, but it seems at this point that the admins have given us back the funds that they took and rewarded us with the battles that we were supposed to have gotten. Another small problem that came up during these days was that motions that were put forward by congress cycled for over 48 hours in a “pending” status without actually resolving. This put one of our donations into some great concern because immediately following was supposed to be a donation to Canadian National Defense. Thankfully the problem seemed to have eased itself up just in time for that donation to the CAF.

Anyways, on the topic of Victory Bonds we experienced some big problems when it is believed that former Prime Minister Rolo initiated an advertising campaign advertising that Victory Bonds Canada was accepting donations, despite this being a blatant lie as a brand new organization, NBC Vault, was created and listed in the Prime Ministers article announcing the bond drive. When the owner of Victory Bonds Canada saw that his advertising had failed, it would seem that they then decided to attempt to thwart the bond drive by confusing the Canadian people with false information, announcing that the entire concept of bond drives was a scam. It continues to sadden me to think that someone I actually had a reasonable amount of respect for would fall so low.

Currency: During this phase of congress, congressman NeO_politiquebec announced his desire to make motions within congress to have the value of the CAD lowered to something akin to 50 CAD to 1 gold in value, which is in relative parity with the US. My personal take on this is that there was little in planning done to push for this plan, as no particulars were discussed in regards to how we in congress would be able to push our currency into said state, as the value of our currency is dictated to us by the market, of which we only have a small measure of control over, especially given the depletion of our reserves from the previous term. I myself when it came to the vote in congress wether this topic should be discussed and investigated further voted in favour, as I believe it is worthwhile to have this discussion despite my belief that it is a flawed idea that we would be better off not implementing.

Criminal Charges: When it seemed that no one else was going to bother, I stepped forward in congress to announce that I thought it would be a good idea if congress discussed the idea of approaching the Supreme Court to officially charge former Prime Minister Rolo with whatever relevant charges were deemed appropriate. My belief here was that we should begin to move forward on this particular issue, and that the best way to do this would be to finally have some official declaration as to what did indeed go on, as well as to possibly shine some light onto the subject. I have always been a believer that one should never shy away from pointing out moral deficiency when it is presented. Such was the case here, and I am glad that former Supreme Court justice olivermellors came forward within the Supreme Court only a short time later to announce his desire to start said proceedings, leaving the conversation in congress moot.

Other.

I’ve been greatly disappointed with the actions by whomever it is that controls the organization Victory Bonds Canada and can only continue to wonder at their motives in this case. To be honest, I can understand ones desire to rob the people of Canada because there is personal gain in said action, but in the case with Victory Bonds Canada it is only a continued insult to the people of Canada and clearly an attempt to simply further bitter a wound for what I can only presume to be fun, and that I do not understand.

I am glad to see though that the Bond Drive has been a success so far. While not the done in less than 24 hours as many of the bond drives have been in the past, we have collected a decent amount of gold so far, and intend to put it to good use.

I also want to point any of you that have been under a rock towards a great bit of media that has been going on here in Canada over the past month or so by Chucky Norris that covers the actions of the past within Canada. Currently his articles are in around the time when Canada was knocked out of the world, and it has been a fascinating read to remember some of the events that are described. I think the articles make for a interesting advertisement towards this game and I applaud him his efforts and hope that he continues on with them.
