10 day double feature, be afraid

Day 1,146, 01:07 Published in Canada Canada by Etemenanki

So because of the holidays and the general life rush that comes from a time such as that today is going to be a double feature. Look at is a double game but about politics rather than baseball, something I think everyone aside from the most die hard baseball fan would admit is more exciting than baseball. I also feel the desire to publish these because of some deep seated need to be cathartic, though it is far from a compulsion since these articles take at minimum a good two hours of effort.

Because this is my first article since before the holidays I would like to take the time to thank those people of Ontario whom voted me into office again as a congressman. Your trust in me is always appreciated and I hope that through these articles and the hard work that I do for you the people of Ontario and Canada I can be shown to be worth your trust.

My Votes.

36) France has been proposed as Natural Enemy? This vote was rushed to us by another congressman whom jumped the gun on it. Discussion had only just begun on wether we truly wanted to go that extra mile and vote France as our natural enemy. Voted no. Motion failed.

37) Do you agree to transfer 20050 CAD from the country accounts to Canadian National Defense? Standard budgetary funding towards the CAF. Voted yes. Motion passed.

3😎 President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Greece? Greece has been an ally of ours for a while now and in the middle of the war against France it was decided it was not a good time to remove them from our MPP list, even if we had wanted to do so for some reason. Voted yes. Motion passed.

39) Tax change: Grain: Income Tax from 10% to 15%? This particular topic had been discussed for a few days in closed door congress and in my mind was a good thing to start as income tax changes were first introduced as a method to help us relieve the losses that we suffered because of the incident with Rolo. Voted yes. Motion failed.

40) Do you agree with the proposal to issue 20000 CAD for 100 GOLD? Standard budgetary issuance of Canadian dollars. Much of our budgetary necessities are made up from this particular form of vote. Voted yes. Motion passed.

41) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Poland? Another one of our older alliances and defiantly one of the most important as Poland constantly hovers as one of the most powerful countries in the eworld. Voted yes. Motion passed.

42) President of Spain proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Middle of a war, down some provinces, would this really be a time to turn away Spain of all countries either? I think not. Voted yes. Motion passed.

43) Do you agree to transfer 47905 CAD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? This was a money saving motion. We were going to shortly lose one of our provinces and we had accumulated a decent amount of money in the treasury. I put forward this motion so that we could preserve the French from taking these funds. Later on down the line, instead of transfering funds to NBOC I knocked those funds off this number, and then transferred the remaining amount to the CND to pay the CAF and then we donated the difference to them, squaring the countries books again. Voted yes. Motion passed.

45) France has been proposed as Natural Enemy? This time around we had had an actual discussion on the matter and decided that it would be in our best interest to get the 10% bonus going on this one. It was responded only minutes later by the French proposing to name us as natural enemies, which failed. They then moved to have Poland I believe it was declared. Voted yes. Motion passed.

46) Do you agree on the text used by the president to welcome new Citizens in your country?
'TemujinBC is the hottest man on the face of the ePlanet.

Also, Fargaz is a Princess.

And JSBoutin is probably a butt.

Same with Raw784

And J. Robert Calder? Yeah, most likely a butt.

Spencer Magee? Basically a nutter.

Ralph Kline might have a 12 inch ePeen.

And Garda from Sweden is uber cuul.

trollololololol '

TemujinBC was bored I guess? I honestly don’t know. I should have been mentioned, in a good way though. Voted no. Motion failed.

47) Do you want the current president of Canada to end this office? No idea where this one came from, no discussion in congress at all about it honestly. Voted no. Motion failed.

4😎 President of China proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? I seem to keep saying it, but in the middle of a war, waving off any available MPP’s just isn’t the wisest course of action. Voted yes. Motion passed.

49) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Australia? Australia and us have a long history of working together and we have on many occasions worked hard to help them in our fullest. Voted yes. Motion passed.

50) Tax Change: Defense system: no change? I believe it was Citizen B whom proposed these two motions, having failed to notice that the admins removed experience gain from motion votes.Voted no. Motion failed.

51) Tax Change: Hospital: No change? See number 50. Voted no. Motion failed.

52) Minimum wage change from 1.2 CAD to 1 CAD? No idea on this one, no discussion what so ever in congress as I recall. Voted no. Motion failed.

53) Tax change: Foo😛 Import from 15% to 35%, Income from 15% to 5%? While I support the idea of increasing our import rates, there was no discussion in congress on this vote to lead things off. Voted no. Motion failed.

New term

1) President of USA proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? We needed to get our alliance with the US back after the accidental wiping out of it with the whole affair down south. Voted yes. Motion passed.

2) Do you agree to transfer 16000 CAD from the country accounts to Canadian National Defense? This would be the difference I talked about earlier and went to funding the CAF/TCO for their weekly efforts. Voted yes. Motion passed.

3) Minimum wage change from 1.2 CAD to 1.5 CAD? Another one of those motions that just comes from no where. I don’t really know why these continue to come up, congress members don’t get any experience for voting, so one would think putting forward a motion like this would have no chance of succeeding, so why bother? Voted no. Motion failed.

4) Tax Change: Iron: Import from 10% to 25%? Another of those out of the no where things. Voted no. Motion failed.

5) Tax change: Foo😛 Import from 15% to 25%? And yet one more. Voted no. Motion failed.

6) President of Sweden proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Another ally to throw onto the list to help us take back part of our country. Voted yes. Motion passed.

7) Do you agree with the proposal to issue 30000 CAD for 150 GOLD? This was a scheduled budget motion to get us some CAD so that we could convert it into much necessary gold. Voted yes. Motion passed.

8.) Do you agree to transfer 8000 CAD from the country accounts to The CCCA? I believe this one came about because of John Cleese (Adasko) whom did it for fun, I guess. All it really did is slow down any foreign currency transfer motions that would have come in this’s place. I was glad to see that it failed as it seems the majority of congress is paying attention before they vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

9) No Natural Enemy has been proposed? This was the first vote to happen and set off quite a bit of a touchy time between congress and the MoD/HC. The motion came up with little fan fair or announcement and was generally looked as being a mistake since it came with no discussion attached and was also on New Years day when many were hung over or just not caring enough at the time. I myself saw the vote, went to the forums and read what was going on because I was curious, which is why I voted yes, because this was the first step in the road to finding peace with the French. Voted yes. Motion failed.

10) Do you agree to transfer 264 DKK from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? Foreign currency constantly is building up in the treasury, and the only way to get rid of it is a slow and painful process of transferring out one currency after another. We will never finish it. Voted yes. Motion passed.

11) President of Croatia proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? War, Croatia, power on our side is always a wise thing. Voted yes. Motion passed.

12) No Natural Enemy has been proposed? This was the second kick at the can, and since it had far more publicity behind it would have been surprising should it have failed. Thankfully it did not. Voted yes. Motion passed.

13) Do you agree to transfer 32145 CAD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? We are constantly sending money to the National Bank of Canada because we are constantly in need of converting CAD into gold because at the end of the day gold pays for just about everything that congress does from MPP’s to money issuance. To give you an idea, we spend over 1000 gold a month just on MPP’s. Voted yes. Motion passed.

14) Tax change: Grain: Import from 1% to 10%, Income from 10% to 5%? We have been talking for a little while about changing the income tax, but this was just an unusual one that I am not entirely sure about. Voted no. Motion failed.

15) Do you agree to transfer 1143 RON from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? More foreign currency to be converted into gold to feed the beast that is the MPP. Voted yes. Motion passed.

16) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Romania? Romania is a long term ally of ours and another one of those mega powerful countries. We have always been happy to have them on our side of the fence and would be far worse off were they not there. Voted yes. Motion passed.

17) Tax change: Foo😛 Income tax from 15% to 10%? This was the first tentative step to testing the waters of congress’s intent. We had been discussing for quite some time the merits and needs of lowering the income tax. We had raised the income tax a few months back in an attempt to increase our tax profits after Rolo raided the cupboard. Personally I did not think it was quite necessary, as at the end of the day Canada relies far more on money printings for it’s profit as opposed to it’s taxes. I think after this round is completed we should take a look at lowering the income tax even further to 7% or 8%, and then when the admins remove organizations start working on VAT. Until the admins remove organization as they have said they will, people will just continue purchasing goods outside of Canada, skirting paying any taxes to the government. That is why I am opposed to using VAT at this time. Voted yes. Motion passed.

1😎 Do you agree to transfer 9001 CAD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? This was the second and final motion by John Cleese (Adasko) for this term and ended up getting him kicked out of the congressional forums for a week. Voted no. Motion failed.

19) The President of France demanded a sum of 0 gold from your National Treasury in return to a peace treaty with Canada.
Do you agree? We began peace negotiations with France a little while back and this was the final step towards them. The country has been at constant personal war for about three months now, starting with our invasion of the UK, ending with our removing France from our shores. Voted yes. Motion passed.

20) Tax change: Iron: Income tax from 15% to 10%? We began lowering the income tax on other markets, so it was desires to lower it in all of them, or at least most of them so as to offer fair and equal taxation on all citizens. Unless we were looking to remove a market from the country (see Jacobi’s grandmother) equal across the board is the best way to go. Voted yes. Motion passed.

21) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Italy? We talked about this one for a couple of days in congress, pondering over whether bringing Italy into our fold would be a good way to go or not. It was decided that it would indeed be the way to go. Some of you may remember that back a month or two ago we had started the process of introducing Italy to our MPP list, but things fell through. Voted yes. Motion passed.

22) Tax change: Weapons: Import tax from 15% to 10%? We continue to look to balance out all of the various markets and our motions are starting to take on good form now hitting many of the necessary area’s Hopefully in a day or two this will all be done and we can begin working out if we wish to change anything else further on. Voted yes. Motion passed.

23) Tax change: Oil: Income tax from 15% to 10%? See motion number 22. Voted yes. Motion passed.

24) Tax change: Stone: Income tax from 15% to 10%? See motion number 22. Voted yes. Motion passed.

25) Tax change: Grain: Import tax from 1% to 15%? See motion number 22. Voted yes.

Congress.

Prime Minister elections: What? Yah, that was my first take on things. It would seem that Prime Minster Wes Lewis wanted to put together some kind of new position in his cabinet, with congress electing a representative that would be working basically as a go between of him and congress. His desire was to slap the name Prime Minister on that position, have congress elect them and go on his merry way. I myself pointed out that the constitution already made mention that the Prime Minister was a title that was already held by the President so he should perhaps choose a new name for it. It seems at this moment Chief Minister has been the title settled on, and that it is Jacobi whom has been chosen, as he is the only one to have stepped forward in seeking of it. Good luck to him.

Supreme Court: At the moment the section of the constitution that has to do with the Supreme Court is in the middle of being removed from the constitution and being converted into a congressional act. The theory is that as a congressional act it will be easier to change and adapt. Myself I wonder why we should need to change and or alter the Supreme court that often that it would be necessary to do this. It seems I am in the minority though as introducing this motion as an act has already passed congress.

CSIS: A motion to completely alter the congressional act that has to do with CSIS has been brought forward to congress. To be honest, if you want to know what the changes are you are going to have to head to congress yourself to read the thread. Myself, I have seen very little of congress for quite some time, which I will admit does not necessarily mean that they have been doing nothing, but it does not speak well for them when someone whom has been in cabinet for more than half a year, and a congressman for that time plus more hasn’t seen much from them. I hope this begins a resurgence in their activities.

Income Tax: As I talk about further up in my motions section of things, we have been working for a while now to bring the income tax rates back down to a more reasonable level. The current rate of 15% was chosen as an attempt to give us back some much needed funds after the whole debacle involving Rolo when Canada was left virtually penniless. Now that we have gotten back onto a good footing we are able to relieve the people of Canada and lower our tax rates. Talks of increasing our VAT rates and lowering income tax once again have come up and I would have little issue with this were it not for the biggest reason that has always existed for not pursuing a VAT system, that of purchasing foreign goods. If one purchases their goods with an organization located in a foreign country and just sends them home, one can avoid paying any taxes to the Canadian government, effectively screwing the country one lives in of any money. Many people have done this for a long time, and many people, including some of the people pushing for VAT increases have said that they do this in the past. When the admins get around to removing organization, it will make this method far far harder to pursue since one will literally need to take a moving ticket to another country, purchase said goods and then come back. So in short, until the admins remove organization switching to a VAT system in my mind is a bad idea regardless of what the numbers look like.

PANAM: We got literally handed a weird one a little while back by our American Bro’s. It seems we were already considered to be a principal/founding signator of a charter founding a new alliance. TemujinBC claimed to have next to no idea where this came from, saying that he had been invited to a IRC chat room for some sort of alliance negotiations but that he never saw anything going on there. In short, it would seem that the US would like Canada, Argentina, Japan and Brazil to form a new alliance. I left this discussion alone for a few days and on Thursday presented a few of my concerns in the thread in congress, but at this moment I have yet to hear anything back, though as I understand it the American at the time whom was involved in our conversation was elected President, so I could imagine that would eat up a chunk of his time, though if this is to ever move to the next step, things will need to continue forward and not just stop where they are.

Other Stuff.

I know it’s been a couple of days now since the election, but for those whom may have been dead until today, Wes Lewis has been elected the Prime Minister of Canada. I continue on as the Minister of Finance this term and hope to continue doing a good job (I presume I have been doing a good job, our treasury continues to move up not down, and we have not had any thefts) at it.

That would be the extent of everything at the moment. Sorry again for the double feature this go around, but things did just truly get busy during the Christmas period, which I guess is supposed to be a good thing, but heck if it doesn’t become exhausting. Till next time folks.

Major congressman etemenanki, Minister of Finance.

P.S. I almost forgot, but the link here is the economic numbers for the month from Dec 5th until Jan 5th.
