1.1: Understanding the Free Irish and an interview with Michael Collins

The Warrior, the Politician, and the Conciliator

The Romanians who occupy Ireland may be as coordinated in their actions as they are tyrannical, but the same cannot be said about the Free Irish movement. The Free Irish are significantly more numerous and committed to their mission than their opponents, but they seem to be divided as to the best way to accomplish such a daunting task as national liberation.

I have taken some time to speak with many of the leaders of the Free Irish movement and have come to view their forces as breaking down into three camps. In the first camp are the warriors, those vocal patriots whose sole focus is to quickly reclaim their homeland through force of arms in order to free their countrymen.

The second camp contains the committed politicians. Those Free Irish committed to liberation, but who look to the next election and question which way would be best to rid their country of the Romanian menace. Would it be better to use force or wait the invaders out?

he final camp consists of those Free Irish who have effectively sworn off the military option, resigned themselves to foreign rule for a month, and hope that their political fortunes will be better in September. What separates them from the second camp is the fact that they will work with the Romanians until they can democratically reclaim power (if they can reclaim power).

I recently sat down with Michael Collins, former Irish Foreign Minister, vocal Free Irish leader, and a hero of the warrior camp. He has recently returned from a temporary ban due to his more outspoken patriotism and has taken the time to extend a plea for aid to all Canadians. (Note: The length and format of this interview has been edited for publication purposes)
Augustus: We have heard the Romanian point of view on the situation. Please explain to the people of Canada how Ireland has come to this point in your own words.

Mr. Collins: The day of the local elections we were alerted by multiple sources that Victor Petrescu and his band of Romanians were planning to take the country. We then secretly planned to all back one Irish candidate, and through PMs and our forum we spread the word, without Victor being any the wiser. The day before the elections Victor created his political party (just as we knew he would) and his band slowly started to join. We put on an outward display of trust, but still knew his intentions.

Augustus: Yet here, today, Petrescu's regime is in power. What went wrong?

Mr. Collins: On the day of the election, our coalition had worked, and (former President) ImaNewbie led by about 10 votes, with about 60 compared to Victors 50. However, in the last hour tons of new accounts started springing up, and our population rose from about 360 to 400. Suddenly Victor started gaining votes and by the end of the day he had 81 votes. Whether or not these were multi accounts cannot be proven but it still proves that he was not democratically elected, since these accounts will never log in again.

Augustus: After it was clear that Petrescu's electoral theft would be upheld by the admins what was your next course of action?

Mr. Collins: At first we suggested a general strike, however that idea was scrapped shortly.

Augustus: What has been the response of Ireland's allies to Petrescu's regime?

Mr. Collins: Already the Czech Republic and Mexico have canceled their MPPs, and our other allies are soon to follow.

Augustus: And what effect has Petrescu's reign had on Ireland in the few days he has been in power?

Mr. Collins: Since coming to power he (Petrescu) has stolen the 4000 GBP we had in our treasury to buy a Q4 hospital, proposed reducing all taxes to zero and flooding our market with imports (http://www.erepublik.com/article-475962.html). Inflation rises by about 2% per day, and our GDP has fallen to 292 GOLD from almost 500. Our currency that was kept in check by our old government has lost 50% of its value almost overnight (http://www.erepublik.com/article-474732.html). They have printed thousands of our currency for their company, which they are now using to offer ridiculously high wages. The bottom line is he (Petrescu) was not democratically or fairly elected, he has stolen from our treasury and prints money for his own personal gain, and he has put our strong economy into a nosedive.

Augustus: Thank you for your time Mr. Collins.

The result of Petrescu's misrule is clear. The Irish people are suffering, and deserve to be liberated by a benevolent neighbor. Canada must act to preserve the Irish nation, but Canada must also act to protect itself from similar foreign goons. When Petrescu is forced out of Ireland where will he go? Canada? What is to stop him? Tomorrow I will discuss the urgent need for Canada to adopt a constitution containing articles invalidating elections that result in foreign political takeovers. Canadians have worked far too hard to see their success and prosperity go the way of Irelands. Our nation cannot be allowed to fall into the hands of an incompetent foreign tyrant.
