[XIV] The One Where I Scold Y'all Like Your Mother

Day 4,834, 20:06 Published in USA USA by Dio Soryu

{Water of Air}

So, the other day I read Stormin's article, Turning Point.
The name did not turn out to be apt, as the admirable desire for a national coming together expressed in the author's thoughts instantly devolved into bickering between, like, literally f'kin everyone and everyone else.

See, I think the idea is admirable but the means by which we, as Americans, try to seek unity is uh... dumb. Real dumb. Because our idea of Unity tends to be a vain desire to 'put all this behind us' when you know goddamned well that would require everyone in the country to drop their every grudges all at once. You people have years of pissing each other off under your belts; you need to deal with these the relationships the way adults do.

See, the real mfer in all this is that you people's communication f'king sucks. Everyone talking to each other in bad faith. Everyone got a bone to pick. This country is factionalized down to the atomic level and you're all a bunch of loudmouth, d-swinging galaxybrains that can't recognize when you're pursuing a point exclusively out of spite.

See my thing with Groot? That's spite. It's pure spite. I know it. That's why I do it. It's almost why I'm here. I'm not trying to peacefully co-exist for the common good of The United States. I'm just f'king with someone that crossed me.

So why the f'k do you all talk to each other like that? I mean, not exactly like that. You do try to make points and aren't nearly as adept at talking smack, but none of you approaches these things trying to see the other perspective and recognize where you might have errored. You're just trying to convince them that you were right and they just don't get it.

Don't think that works, actually.

So, okay. What's my point then?

I don't have any stakes in any of this tedious crap and, in fact, that's about the most valuable commodity in the United States. That and communication. And conflict resolution. Ugh, f'k.

You don't need to set up another g/d over-complicated bureaucratic system to loom over this withering vine, just so so the f'kin string-pullers can start rigging that to their advantage and it can be another thing to fight about.

You need a mediator and to participate voluntarily and for the ruling to be enforced by the good faith that y'all will abide it.

I am not willing to hold any office, press any f'kin buttons or pull for anyone's political ambitions. I don't like CG in office but I can't imagine Gnil would be much different. I don't like Groot, but I that's a hobby and I can set it aside if it became relevant.

And if you don't want me to do it, find someone or do it yourselves.

But I can goddamn promise you, the first thing that needs to be fixed is communication and it's going to take all of you working on it and socially enforcing it.

Everything is curb appeal, if your foundation is a sinkhole.

I could give a damn about any of this game, but I do care for y'all and that's the reason I show up. If national unity and a new golden age results, I would be kinda disappointed personally, but if I can help y'all learn to appreciate each other's contribution and uncover the bonds you spend so much time pretending you don't share... Yeah, alright. That's worth it.

So, yeah. Stop calling the cops and pounding on the walls, just bake some damn cookies, go over for tea, get to know them and ask if they need any favors and ask if they can do you a favor.

If any of you got shit with someone else you need to sort out and aren't sure how or how to even start, drop me a line.

But, for f'k sake. This country has a bit over 1,000 'active citizens' and maybe 500 even in political parties. It's not a big enough social space for you to all act like it's all just going to fade. It's not. It's intensifying.

Blessings be,
