[WTP] Census Report (June 2013)

Day 2,050, 07:50 Published in USA USA by Tanishq

Fellow citizens,

As WTP’s newly-appointed Census Director, I thought I’d present an update on the party’s member status for the month of June. While the ATO operations this month resulted in large numbers of members temporarily switching parties, a few trends have emerged from the data collected.

Before I get to the data, though, let me briefly explain our work, for those of you who are not familiar with our census department. In order to hold off-forum primaries, the WTP census department must record who joins and leaves the party so party leaders can create an accurate voting whitelist. There are a few restrictions as to who can vote; members must be in good standing with (i.e. not an enemy of) the party and have attained a minimum in-game level of 24 (see Bill 1) with comparable True Patriot progress (to prevent multis from skewing the election). Voters may appeal their status if they feel unfairly disqualified.

Now on to the data…

A pie chart!

That’s right; as the end of the congressional month* of June, the WTP census contained 392 entries, 73%** of which consisted of eligible voters and 27% of which comprised ineligible voters. Moving on…

Another pie chart!

New census entries comprised 36% of the total party population. As with the number of eligible voters in the entire census record, eligible voters in this group form the largest slice of pie, falling at 67%. Ineligible voters made up 33% of new party members.

I'm sensing a theme here...

Finally, the number of archived entries totals 150 members. Eligible voters make up 39% of this group, while 7% of suspicious members/party enemies left the party during the month of June. The largest number of citizens recorded as having left the party, however, belongs to the group of citizens ineligible to vote because of their level (or, less frequently, their TP progress). This trend speaks to the fact that many members quit the game before reaching our minimum level requirement (level 24); most citizens in this group are either dead citizens or extremely inactive.

And that concludes this month’s report on the WTP census status! Next month’s report will be more interesting, I promise (we’ll have more data to compare)! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

All best,
