[WRP] Congressional Ambition - Tax Break, Respect and a Co-Operative Society
Huey George
The Workers' Rights Party bring Congress(Parliament) a firm base of approachable and active members never afraid to stand up for what is right for the citizen and the eUK. Members of Congress who stand for fairness, equality and integrity.
Our Congressional Representation will focus on three main aspirations in this upcoming
A pledge to push for a 2.00% reduction in the Work Tax levied against the citizenry to a level of 2.00%. We have almost 1 million GBP in the Treasury to act as a "War Chest" so now is the time to give the citizenry a tax break. With the other top 5 parties with undeclared tax polices; the Workers' Rights Party Congressional representation could be your primary mechanism to see a reduction in work tax. So if you support this policy please consider give us your support.
As always to encourage respect in public dialogue to set a positive example that elevates the quality of politics in our country. This should enable a more intelligent dialogue on public issues to attract all citizens to take part. This will rise us all above the partisanship which at times threaten to cripple our country. The Workers’ Rights Party in a prominent strong position in the UK political spectrum will help all citizens in our society.
And our founding promise to give all citizens access to fair wages, equal opportunities and a co-operative society, where more citizens volunteer to work together for their mutual social, economic, and cultural benefit. The Workers’ Rights Party believe a fully co-operative society is a happy, strong and industrious society and our party can lead the UK to this where others have faltered.
Our full Congressional Manifesto
Change taxes - Based on the 'main' forms of taxation.
Work Tax
The Workers' Rights Party policy on work tax is 2.00%. A reduction of 2.00% from the currently set level of 4.00%
1.00% means the country is run at a deficit.
2.00% means as a country we run at a slight surplus. This support us as a Country to afford a strong set of critical MPPs and set COs when critical.
3.00% means as a country we run at a good surplus. This supports us as a Country to afford a strong set of critical MPPs and set COs more freely.
4.00% is comparable to many other countries our size, means the country is run with a large surplus which allows us an ample set of MPPs, we can set COs freely and builds the long-term war chest.
5.00% similar to 4% except more for the long-term war chest.
The time has come to see a return to 2.00% once again for the benefit of the citizenry as our 'War Chest' is amble. 4.00% was right at the time however no longer.
Import Tax
The Workers' Rights Party policy on import taxes are they should be set at levels to discourage non-domestic supplies under-cutting domestic suppliers on the UK markets. However still allow a competitive market so our citizenry get good value for money. We support the current set import tax rates.
VAT
The Workers' Rights Party policy on VAT is 1.00%. To make goods as affordable as possible for UK citizens and encourage profitability for suppliers.
Change the minimum wage - The Workers' Rights Party policy is to maintain the 0.10GBP minimum wage. This is because we hold a believe that every worker should have the freedom to chose their wage, no citizen is forced to work solely for weapons, food and/or altruistic desires and a higher than minimum wage can be found easily if required.
Country Donations and Issue Money - The Workers' Rights Party policy is to decide these law proposals on a case by case basis on.
President Impeachment - The Workers' Rights Party is unlikely to support an impeachment as the CP has been elected by public majority. It'd have to be absolute negligence which endangered the UK's future and security for the party's Members of Congress to vote in favour of 'removing' the CP from office.
Natural enemy - The Workers' Rights Party policy is to decide these law proposals on a case by case basis on and after all the facts have been reviewed and the pros and cons weighed up.
Law Proposals from the Country President
- Mutual Protection Pacts - The Workers' Rights Party will support MPPs which supports our current alliance and existing historical MPPs based on friendship and will give consideration to new Government proposed MPPs.
Airstrike - The Workers' Rights Party policy is this can only be decided on a case by case basis and after all the facts have been reviewed and the pros and cons weighed up. With the decision that much more important as it would have to be made to justify the high initial cost to the country.
Message to New Citizens - The Workers' Rights Party policy is for this being kept as much as possible up to date and relevant however again my decision would be based on what the proposed message was.
- The 'others' are not covered by Workers' Rights Party as they are unlikely to come up if they still exist for some... however rest assured on the rare occasion they do arise a policy of careful consideration will be taken as the circumstances for these are likely to be unusual.

I'll end once again will a call for those who support for a reduction in the Work tax rate from 4.00% to 2.00% to vocalise their support. This is a very popular policy within the Workers' Rights Party and I'd very much like to see if the rest of UK population would be in favour of this and possible if some of the other political parties are. On the opposing side I'd also like to hear from those who feel 4.00% remains the correct level, let us have an intelligent dialogue on this as a public issue to attract all citizens to take part.
Thanks for reading

clear and to the point!
You know what you are getting with the WRP
2% reduction in a work tax is nothing for the workers... they only pay 0.8cc less to the country (with a salary of 40cc) and it's everything to the country. With half less income we wouldn't be able to cover all MPPs, rent and spare money. Also, 1 million cc is enough for half of one epic campaign...
Really good article.
A good article, I wish other parties did stuff like this so we could know where each one stands.
Have you taken into consideration the fact we now have to pay 60k a month in rental fees?
The party membership has and thanks for raising the question as it is an important question for each individual citizen to consider when making their mind up about an appropriate current work tax level.
As much as I hate to say it:
It is Congress' prerogative to decide how much of the state's tax income is available for the executive body to spend, not the other way around.
Yet as soon as the money is out of the country accounts they can do what they like with it :3
Congress agreed to it
Very good. Clear and understandable. Makes sense.
If I may ask, how often do WRP discuss policy and via what means?
You may ask...however in a way only I can sometime manage...I'll probably use too many words answering it ha.
Around day 2,063, the at time membership of the Workers' Rights Party drafted our polices ( http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-wrp-statement-of-policies-draft-1st-edition-2290926/1/20 ). Before then they were often discuss however generally just existed among the membership thoughts.
Since then there has not really been any formal or regular schedule of policy discussion. It has been up to the Party President to keep our polices under review, inform the party membership of their existence usually via articles in the media and propose amendments / additions / removal of polices via the party feed or via group personal messages (after asking on the party feed for a group of interested party members to volunteer).
As we have no formal mechanism for polices discussion anyone in the party membership can start a review process / discussion on our polices which the party membership have often done so.
In all modesty it works pretty well... certainly improvements could be made however it has allowed our polices to remain updated and reviewed without too much effort from anyone individual.
all dem big words wont save you from der Mongress

If 2% tax is the right figure, why isn't it being voted on now?
Because there's disagreement on whether or not we should reduce it or not. The UK occupies a new position in the world with our full weapons bonus making us a prime target, so it could be argued that old economic models (which theh 2% tax is) should be reevaluated to handle the many possible threats that can arise. Obviously this discourse needs to happen, but it's not necessarily cut and dry.
For comparison's sake, the USA keeps a War Chest of at least 10,000,000 CC.
It makes our current total look like a drop in the ocean.
good article Huey 🙂
First decent article in ages, all the other parties are pretty vacant.
Seems like Dapper has found a new target...
I personally would not recommend cutting work tax, there is never to much money in the bank for CO's in case you will need to defend. Better concentrate on inviting players into the country who have a lot of companies and can afford to pay taxes, you have a good bonuses now, take the most of it.
Keeping a large war chest in place depends on us, as a nation, not voting idiots and thieves in as CP. That's not something we've been very good at in the past.
Vote DC and that eliminates the problem. o7
What seems like a huge surplus right now can turn into a deficit in a heartbeat. I would hate to see the eUK scraping the barrel for cash to pay for a needed MPP or whatever.
I'm one of the small players, with two food and two weapons factories (the latter shuttered as they don't pay enough to make a profit). I'd personally benefit from the lower tax rate - but as I love my eCountry, I will gladly sacrifice the tiny difference for the good of the country.
