[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 9

Day 1,863, 23:05 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Preamble

Once again I have the distinct pleasure of being elected into Congress(Parliament). Thank you to all who supported and voted for the UKPP supported by my own Workers' Rights Party in the Congress elections.

UKPP is a great party and showed generosity and kindness placing me third on their Congress running list. They have produced a whole host of members progressive in nature and a great credit to the eUK. All in all a party more than deserving of their top spot in UK politics.

Thank you to Sir Nick Griffin and all the fine members of

Remaining as your member of Congress(Parliament), I'm still just as determine to be as open, honest and transparent so you know exactly how I'm serving you and can have an input into the laws which shape the future of the UK. Over the course of the elections, I've voted on four law proposals.

Your new Congress(Parliament)

TUP - 9 members

UKPP - 8 members

NE - 8 members

OV - 5 members

ESO - 5 members

PCP - 2 members (NE supported)

UKRP - 2 members (TUP supported)

WRP - 1 member (UKPP supported)

Congratulations to all. I think it is fascinating and a real achievement to have so many parties represented in Congress(Parliament).

Law proposals

The first law proposal was;

Do you want the current president of United Kingdom to end this office?

I voted NO, This was because at the time there was a fair amount of confusion on why this law was proposed and in my opinion and the consensus I drew from my constituents BigAnt had done nothing to justify impeachment. A fairly simple decision.

The vote ended;
20 YES votes to 13 NO votes (Remember for a law proposal to be successful it required 66% of the vote)

The following law proposal was;

VAT & Import Taxes: Iron

Value added tax (VAT) - 0% (OLD) to 0% (NEW)
Import Tax - 2% (OLD) to 6% (NEW)

I voted YES, This is because I felt this increase in Import Tax would both benefit the domestic WRM (Iron) producer and seller. It would also benefit the eUK treasury.

The vote ended;
20 YES votes to 11 NO votes

Another law proposal was;

Portugal has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted YES, to support our Country President's wishes at the time. Although plans have now changed and the new world now takes us another direction.

The vote ended;
34 YES votes to 9 NO votes in the UK

There is one outstanding law proposal

President of Serbia proposed a mutual protection pact with United Kingdom

I have voted YES, This is because Serbia is a powerful and helpful ally. We are in the “TWO” alliance together. Our existing MPP with Serbia allows our citizens opportunities at times to fight in their wars to gain experience whilst supporting allies and improving our new world reputation.

The current vote stands(as of 22:29 Day 1,863 of the new world);
31 YES votes to 1 NO votes in the UK
34 YES votes to 0 NO votes in Serbia

As always I welcome the view of my constituents. Please feel free to comment or personal message me.

Closing thoughts

It was an interesting and sometimes challenging first term in Congress(Parliament). In my humble opinion Congress(Parliament) plays an important role in shaping the future of the UK, we must ensure that this role isn't diminished or public faith lost through careless actions.

Congress(Parliament) must act swiftly however I still would like to see more transparency, openness and honesty from all our Members of Congress(Parliament). All our members must vote or publicly abstain, the role not just an achievement (or gold) to collect. We are here to represent the view of the majority not the whims of a few.

Who are the Workers' Rights Party?

The Workers’ Rights Party is a political party which strives to see the eUK is full of dedicated, active and well-informed citizens supported by their government. We are dedicated to ensuring equality and enhancing society for all eUK citizens. We trust the people tempered by prudence, this separates us from a lot of the other parties of the eUK who dis-trust the people tempered by fear. At the heart of our party is fairness, free-thinking and creativity.

How can you help?

Join the Workers’ Rights Party – Together we can work towards a better, stronger and brighter eUK
