[WHPR PIU]inb4reset

Day 1,347, 23:58 Published in USA USA by Kijiman

I like competitions. I also like government awards that only my government can give out. It's a good thing the WHPR's newest event is not only a competition, but also rewards the winner a government award that only the government can give out. So it's a no-brainer that I'm participating.

Now, the competition rules clearly state that the article must have "[WHPR PIU]" in the title, (check) be sent before reset of day 1347 (I got it in, didn't I), and I must comment in the WHPR article that announced it. The competition itself was simple. Write an article addressing the question, "What will Plato do next?". This question required a lot of contemplating, and contemplating is what I did.

After Gnilraps stole my answer, I was forced to re-contemplate my response. Now, assuming that we all know Plato by this point, the answer should be rather obvious to most of us. I'm sure many of you have seen the Plato-Bashing articles that numerous people (including myself) have written in response to some of the great prophet's changes. These articles can be mean, vile, and outright rude. And I'm sure he's read some of them- he couldn't be that oblivious. This probably made Plato feel sad.

Obviously, when someone is sad, the obvious response is to get rid of the sadness. So, Plato's next move will obviously be to shut eRepublik do- No. Wait. That wouldn't work. Then how would he get all the gold the players buy towards getting some 2-D tanks that make their numbers go higher when they click the big red button. So the only other option would be to shut down the offending newspapers. Perfect. Now the Great Plato's eyes will no longer be offended by these vile articles. But wait, what if the other newspapers write bad things about him as well! He wouldn't be able to keep up fast enough to delete them all individually. I guess the only solution is just to get rid of newspapers altogether he thought.

Well, without newspapers, how will the members of eRepublik express themselves? Then a thought popped into Plato's head. The News Feed of course! He would remove the character limit on the News Feed so that all the people of eRepublik could all express themselves and their opinions (for a small fee of gold of course). It was brilliant he thought. Until another idea came to mind. Wouldn't people still complain about their countries being bombarded by other countries on the News Feed, thus cluttering it, and not allowing for the gold playing payers to freely post on it? A solution came to the Great Thinker. He would reset all countries boundaries, and not allow and country to attack any other country without permission from Plato himself (bribed of course by a paltry sum of gold). And thus, with this minor change, everything seemed well in eRepublik.

All would be happy Plato thought to himself, chuckling. Until a frightening epiphany came to Plato. What if the players don't like these changes? What if they created an Anti-Plato party in their politics system that they cherished so much, and, Plato forbid, one of them was to win the presidency?! Surely this would be disastrous for Plato, and they would boycott all of Plato's gold. This, he could not have. So the obvious thing to do is now to shut down the parties and their murderous schemes. Perfect. Now all the players can be happy and content in their now-full countries, with their gold, and their News Feed that they can use their gold for in order to express themselves.

But, Plato thought to himself, wouldn't all these things become monotonous after a time? Surely he must add in some sort of events to ease their adventure craving hearts. A gold buying event! Not only would it allow the players to buy more gold, it would also provide excitement at their worriment that the 70 hour timer would run out and they could not purchase any more gold at a special price. In fact, Plato thought, this would be such a big event, that it would go on forever! At its new marked-down price, all the gold would surely be bought out in no time.

At this final decision, Plato looked at his world that he had finally perfected. No more were they plagued by the problems and issues that were associated with having an eCountry, now they could buy gold to their hearts content, and express their individualism in this majestic beast of a game he had created. Finally, eRepublik was at peace.

Obviously, this is what Plato will do next. Stay classy folks,
