[USWP] A Party Worth Fighting For
Derphoof
What do we want?
A party worth fighting for!
That’s the cry I’ve heard from the Workers that make up the USWP. This is why I jumped into the role of USWP PP.
I came to the eUSA in January of 2013, as a member of the Feds. One of the things that was beat into me was that USWP kinda sucked, and Pfeiffer was probably Satan incarnate. While I loved the Feds, I got to know USWP members, including Pfeiffer, and decided to hop on board.
The way they played the game fit me well. I liked the meta-game, the politics, and the support system in the USWP. It was a fun group to be a part of, and it still is. I hope that my return to USWP Leadership will stop the downward slide of the party, and restore us to our roots and our prominence.
Many in the party have lamented our fall from the heights of the eUSA Party System, and its due to a few things. Of course, much of the ancient old guard is gone, recruitment is non-existent, and the party’s political messaging is muddled at best. This has resulted in our party numbers dwindling, with little to help keep it above water, while some members of the party think “what are we fighting for?”
While I won’t consider myself to be the singular voice of the party, I’ll tell you what I’m fighting for, what I want you to fight for, and where we can go from here.
Firstly, I will try my best to recruit from every corner of the game. A party cannot thrive unless it has a vibrant membership. Without that, it’ll just be a few players in a PM group. The USWP has to be more than that, and I will try to climb the ladder of the game’s parties.
I can’t promise success, but I will promise effort.
Secondly, we must stand for something. So, I’ll tell you what I stand for in this game and in the community. I hope the rest of the party will join me.
I stand for the continuation of the meta-game as it exists on the forums. While I am open to compromises and inclusivity, the meta-game is good. The game itself necessitated the creation of the meta-game, which has been a positive for our community, and I will fight to preserve its institutions.
I stand for enforceable laws that make sense. My only gripe about the meta-game is that sometimes, people try to pass laws that can’t work. One such law is the “Political Subterfuge Prevention Act.” While I applaud EZC for complying with the law, it is impossible to know who is a “bot” and who is not, as well as who controls such bots. Accusations can be made all day, and the law could be abused. I talked about this on eNPR, where I agreed with Paul’s comment that it’s an unenforceable law, and DC’s comment that it could cause chaos. The meta must be used to supplement the game mechanics with enforceable laws and policies.
I stand for a strong military in the USA. And yes, I do not mind the presence of military bots in the eUSA. Other countries use and abuse them. I’m aware we have networks, and that the gov’t has encouraged the use of bots. So long as they are used to further our position on the battlefield, I am in favor of them. We cannot fall behind other nation’s simply because we refuse to take advantage of the opportunities presented to us.
I stand for strong foreign policy. When it comes down to it, moving to the Asteria sphere was always the right choice for the USA. I know I say that as someone who has advocated it for years, but I believe the current process in Apollo is the best path forward for America.
I stand for well-funded government. I will always pass CBO laws, to fund our government programs and keep a healthy reserve. We must invest our tax dollars into our citizens/fighters, to keep us competitive on the battlefield. Just as well, we must have a healthy reserve for when we are in distress.
Since I started writing this article over the weekend, EZC has presented a new party to the public. The EZC Apolitical Party is now explicitly political. I welcome the competition, and look forward to retaining our spot in the Top 5 for future congressional terms. I know it will not be easy, as USWP has no affiliated MU to gain members from (RIP, Ultramarines), but I will try my hardest.
As for this month, I am encouraging all Workers to consider running for Congress. I will be reviewing applicants and publishing our Congressional Ballot on the 24th. While it was on Christmas, the last Congress election was likely the worst performance in USWP history. I hope to turn that around quickly.
Until then, take care.

There is only one reason why the Top 5 is under threat, and I think we all know what it is.
continuation of the meta-game
We will be fighting for a spot in the top 5 against you guys, but sadly, we share the same ideas.
As far as the bot law, it was initiated by a leader of your party, I told him he was shooting himself in the foot, well here we are.
Again, I wish we would be fighting against some other party in the top 5 because I highy respect most of you guys, after all, I am an ex PP of USWP.
Peace out
Ditto
It shall be a fight for the ages. Unfortunately, the bot law was a poor misstep. That, along with the CP election in December, was why I inserted myself into more active leadership and got back into Congress. I was hoping to be PP last month to change it around quicker, but we messed up the ballot. C’est la vie
Looking forward to a fun fight.
Just like I told Gnil at the time, there is ZERO reason to keep those bots in a party and plenty of reason not to. You can try to take credit and say EZC moved the ones out of USWP, but the person running them is a member of USWP leadership, so they are as much USWP as they are EZC.
I stand by the fact that we need these bots to remain competitive as a military force and the fact that I do not support using them for political means and that won't change.
The only thing your law brings is paranoia and a major shit show, you know there are more bots in other parties, why did you stop at Mando? it’s not up to you or the meta Congress to decide where bots go and do, it’s Plato’s job, and if he allows it? then be it, just leave them alone and concentrate on more important shit.
I've reported bots any time I find them, in all parties.
Again, we frequently make a distinction between bots used to fight (which most of us agree is needed) and bot used to artificially boost party membership.
And even with this law, what action was taken against you, as outlined in the law? Nothing. You weren't blacklisted, you weren't censured. Nothing.
It works both ways. If you know about bots in other parties, bring it up in Congress, let's go after them. I'm all for it. I don't know who they are, maybe you do.
I’ll never report them, they help the Country and I don’t care where they hang out. Also, I’m not concerned at all about a meta blacklist, it does nothing at all.
all you did was bring a largely non political juggernaut into politics. You got so nervous that the Mandalorian party might oust you that instead of rationalizing with them you fought them (in the most ineffective and irrational way). Well here you are now. I wish the best for the USWP, but I can't say I didn't see this coming.... Maybe derp can pull you out of this self created mess...
In other words, there is no difference between you and every other establishment party (as the establishment creatures are quick to hop in here and affirm); therefore there is no reason for your party to exist as a separate entity. It's just a clone. It has no purpose at all besides taking up space.
That law needs to be repealed immediately, as it is a national security issue. Those bots provide needed damage for our nation. The law seems designed to weaken our nation and diminish our role in Asteria. Probably one of the most ill-advised laws our congress has passed.
See you in the halls.
LOL In what context, we already surrendered!
" Those bots provide..." membership to Asstearia
"The law seems designed to weaken our nation and diminish our role in..." cheating schemes
I don't see how the law could be thought of as weakening the country, whether you are pro or anti bot. Does having a bot in a political party make it stronger? What possible purpose could repealing it serve?
Indeed. Please, get out of my head. The USWP has long been committed to whatever policy and program will take greatest advantage of game mechanics. We must follow through on that, instead of passing unenforceable laws.
It doesn't really matter if government sanctioned bots are in parties or not, I still have yet to see proof that they are voting. Diminishing our damage output is diminishing our ability to hold up our end of the bargain alliance wise.
Great article!
although i do partially agree with what George Barker said i do believe that it is important to put any political statements in writings for citizens to read because this is how a candidate can be judged later.
i look towards the next elections where the EZC will be a new player and drive USWP, WTP, Feds and others towards providing with an alternative or promise better results.
good luck
