The Old Article shall be saved for posterity.

Today, the system Administrators removed Sandygee from the Australian ballot. The election may proceed as planned. Crisis averted!

For Indo

Yesterday, the Government attempted to shut out the Indonesian PTO by locking down all five of the Presidential slots with Australian candidates. Unfortunately, as day change approached the Heart of Cerridwen Voeland party suddenly had a population explosion and soared into the top 5. Admin dropped the mighty ban hammer on more then 100 accounts, but the damage had been done. As of right now sandygee is now on the ballot, and our efforts to appeal for her removal have been unsuccessful.

While we know there is now a highly substantial multi-population in Australia and are actively attempting to suppress them, its like playing whack a mole. The new fighting rules assure that a Multi account can gain voter status much more rapidly then before, and for every account we get banned, more pop up. We are also having to consider the possibility that the Indonesians are encouraging legitimate accounts to be created inside Australia, that would fall within the legal rules of eRepublik. Wander Foreward has claimed in the Indonesian media that they have more then 600 non-bot citizens active in Australia. While I am sure this is an exaggeration, it will be very troubling if its close to being true. 600 votes was about what the entire nation of Australia placed in the last election.

CITIZEN ANTI-TAKE OVER

At this point, we have exhausted all administrative options for suppressing this PTO, and we must now proceed to a general ATO operation involving the entire country. Things that all Australians should do immediately

1. Do not vote without first checking the situation

2. Try to hold your vote for as long as possible. Like a fight, do it on your last login.

3. Pay attention to official releases (like this one) to get updates on the situation.

4. If you are in the Military, you are strongly urged to coordinate with your unit.

This Presidential election was already set to be a nail biter to begin with, and with that in mind, this is perhaps the worst time for it. We have many awesome candidates running, and the potential is now dire that a split vote among the 4 official candidates will allow the PTO candidate to get through. This absolutely cannot be permitted to happen.

As we are very proud of our democracy here, nobody need feel that they are compelled to vote a certain way. However, the very nature of this PTO effort is already undermining our democratic system, and the potential is real that the will of the Australian people will be trumped by the coup anyhow. There is a strong possibility that citizens will be urged to vote for just a single candidate if the situation becomes serious enough.

Remember, our enemies are treating this election like a military campaign. Like any fight, they are unlikely to start rushing their votes until it gets close to server reset. It is expected that the final 30 minutes of the day will see the most PTO voters become active.

IF WE FAIL

There is a strong possibility that our efforts to hold this off could fail. If that occurs, we can expect the Indonesian PTO to declare an attack on Indonesian home territory in order to activate that countries MPP’s, followed swiftly by a mass retreat of Australian territory. Point blank people, if this PTO is successful, we will have to evacuate the country. Things you can do to prepare for this eventuality.

1. Make sure you have at least 1 moving ticket to get out ahead of time if things go bad. If you fall behind enemy lines, you will need 2 moving tickets to reach an allied region.

2. Make sure you have Gold that can be exchanged for foreign currency following evacuation.

3. Remember to only go to a region possessing a Q5 hospital, in one of our activated MPP countries.

The reason for this is because a PTO President will not be able to retreat the final region. Unfortunately, that final region is likely to be Tasmania, a territory lacking a hospital. It will be absolutely critical that our citizens get out of Australia and into position to defend this region. We will have to hold it for two battle iterations before the Senate can remove the PTO and the new President is permitted to mount a counterattack. If we lose that last battle, all our MPP’s close and we will be stuck occupied by Indonesia.
