[UPC] UPGRADED POLITICAL PLATFORM

There has been a modified political platform that was proposed by our Vice-President, Unkem, which is now being decided upon. These changes are strongly supported with 100% of the votes being for the change. This is not, however, the final draft. Input from party members will be gladly taken into account and changes made as needed. A link in provided below to the poll and discussion thread.
Here is the new proposed Platform:
As a member:
1. I believe eCanada should remain a sovereign nation, [With some flexibility].
2. I believe in social programming to help better our nation and every Canadian.
3. I believe in modest taxes that does not:
-a. Make it hard on consumers or corporations to make a living.
-b. Make it impossible to fund social programs.
-c. Make it impossible to Fund our military keeping us sovereign and secure.
4. I believe in open politics. Giving every Canadian a voice and free will to run for UPC Congress or Party President.
5. I believe in a unified Canada and will help carry out the decision of the majority.
6. I believe the Coalition is a threat to Canadian stability and unity therefore must be kept from power.
As a Congress member:
1. I believe in the UPC platform and beliefs.
2. I believe that being a representative of the UPC is a job and nothing less.
3. I believe that my job is to better Canada by proposing and passing laws based off UPC platform.
4. I believe I have the job of not just answering for myself when voting but for answering for the UPC.
As a Party President:
1. I believe in furthering the party, unifying it and keeping it as the voice of our people.
2. I believe that this is not just a title, but a job.
3. I believe that I have to answer to the party and not the other way around.

If I was not overly happy with my current party, UPC is where I would be.
#6 might be a bit much, MDP and coalition will be dated terms in the near future
@Crock, as eCanada's situation changes, we will amend our Platform to keep with the times. Being outdated isn't a part of the plan for the UPC.
As is stated in the article, this platform isn't laid out in stone. We will keep up with the times in regards to both our platform and which alliances we forge.
Ambitious! The main part of what makes the game interesting to see how parties form together and shape their purpose. UPC is definitely developing a stronger sense of purpose. It'll be interesting to see how it affects eCanada's political climate as a whole.

yeah, I found those double-negatives a bit confusing, too. Stating the 'impossible' in a platform makes less sense than talking about what is possible or currently actual ~ that keeps the debate a bit more grounded in reality.
