[UKRP]Voting TUP, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas!!!

Hello eWorld!

It has been a while, and for that I apologise profusely! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Michael Crookes, I am an oldfag who has been playing this game for a number of years now (on and off). I began by elife in eSouth African, and moved across to the eUK about 2 and a half years ago.

Today’s article will be a political piece written on behalf of the United Kingdom Reform Party which will focus primarily on our congress elections. So lets begin!

The 5th place party

Now, yesterday was a very busy day for the UKRP. There was huge activity in our irc channels, in game and on the forum as we mounted a last gasp effort to gain congress. You see, according to the game mechanics, only parties in the top 5 of a country’s list are able to run members for congress. For that reason the party went into overdrive, welcoming new members and bringing old members home in order to achieve that 5th spot.

It is somewhat ironic then, that it was shortly after we gained the 5th spot in the party rankings that we realised the game mechanics had in fact changed. According to the new rules, the top 5 parties are chosen at 02:00 (erepbulik time) on the morning of the 23rd. This meant that although by 08:00 (erepublik time) we were the 5th largest party, we would still not be allowed to run our own candidates.

At this point, we moved a number of our members across to TUP (taking us back out of the top 5). TUP had very kindly offered to run some of our members in their congress slots in order to help us out. It is for that reason that I urge all UKRP members, UKRP supporters and even just those who feel a little sorry for us to VOTE TUP.

That’s all very well, but I am sure that a number of you are wondering who it is that you would be voting if you did indeed vote for TUP. Well, here is the list:

5Butjam

Butjam is a wonderful member of the eUK and has been a great encouragement and blessing to those of us in the UKRP and the wider community in recent days. He is currently running for his second term of congress and we have every faith that should he succeed in being elected he will do both the eUK and his voters proud. Butjam is a wonderful candidate.

bogdan Vladuca

Bogdan (Known, as I discovered recently) as MrTrousers on the irc is the youngest of the three candidates that we are planning to run in this months election, at just 14 days old (at the time of writing). Even though he is young, bogdan has already made an impact on many of the older players within the party and we hope that by running for congress he will begin to find his footing, and find ways to help out in the larger community.

Madacaion

In my humble opinion, Madacaion is one of the greatest things to come out of the eUK in the past 2 years (if not longer). He is utterly committed to bettering the eUK, he will not involve himself in petty disputes and he gets the job done…Many of you will also know him as one of last months vCPs. Mada is a very cool guy and very deserving of your vote!

I should also very quickly mention that it has just been brought to my attention that in the last week UKRP has turned 5! It is more than 5 years since this party was first set up and in that time we have been through some amazing highs and some terrible lows, but I would like to thank every member of the UKRP (whether they are still playing or not) for making the UKRP such a fun place to be. I have really enjoyed my time here and it has been amazing to play alongside you so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I have got another in the works which will consist of analysis of the results of a survey of all members of the parties in the top 5 (or 6 if I can be bothered to message even more people than I have already committed to) so keep an eye open for that.
