[UK] Your candidates for Country President.

Day 1,414, 04:44 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ullok

After a month that has seen London fall to TEDEN credit cards, and most of the country under occupation, like the rest of the new world, eBritain is once again gearing up to go back to the polls.

The tl;dr voter will probably see little difference in the vote grabbing national goals of, increase population, increase GDP, invade Ireland and/or Canada, but what do the candidates actually stand for?

With UKRP candidate Frerk pulling out of contention due to him not wanting a repeat of last month’s CP’s problems, Sir Humphrey Appleby has stepped in, along with his running mate Ecksohh. Two highly experienced members of the community, each with their own strengths on opposite sides of the game. This has left me puzzled as to why there were so few “ideas” in the currently 3 article long manifesto. For example the MoHA reforms centred around reviving the NNA, forum games and carrying on as we are, whereas the MoLA seemed nothing but vague promises.

TUP candidate and PP, temujin94 running with current interim CP, Daeres shows more of a strategy in their manifesto than what at first appeared an overly ambitious 10% population increase. By utilising a twitter account and the new gaming forum structure, I see them tapping into a new stream of prospective citizens. I am also in favour of reissuing MoD orders through the paper, as CotD are all well and good, but this can offer context, keep the populace informed and is an armed forces recruitment tool that is currently vastly underused (and we want people getting their bazooka-and-chewie-bar-a-day).

ESO candidate, the aforementioned Daeres has produced a single, at times overly terse manifesto which at points seems to just hint and echo (such as in plans for the workings of ministries) while at others expand on not only the current intentions he has expressed during his few days in office, but unsurprisingly temujin94’s plans as well, as with the plans for using Facebook and Twitter as a recruitment tool.

The last candidates, UKDP's Elvis Trout and Spamican (or more rightly second TUP candidate, MP for Northern Ireland) Jack Jockson, are most likely blockers, as neither have produced any in game manifesto with under 20 hours to go and show little enthusiasm in their national goals.

EDIT

Jack Jockson's manifesto.
