[UK]Until next time

Day 3,578, 01:13 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

It is the morning of the 6th and my term ends today. Three candidates and a troll will know if they were convincing enough or likable enough to get your vote. By the looks of things there is little doubt Roachford is going home with the medal. I always think 4 weeks is too short a time to be CP although two consecutive months are a drag at the end too. To be honest it is hard to not glide in to nostalgia about what was years ago so I’ll just give you a brief summary of this month.

Slinking MPPs and looking for new wars

Over the Summer the game traditionally slows down a bit due to players going on holidays. This year is no different. Extra this year is that the current alliance are well past their holding date making anything remotely interesting on the battlefield nihil. Yesterday an event was announced and some changes will be implemented. There are a few things not clear to me so for now I am not going to say if it is a good or a bad change.

Anyway we were set on a path to drop even more MPPs and have now the absolute minimum in my opinion. Dropping the TW with Sweden had two major reasons, one being Sweden not willing to bring the war to their soil part of the time and the second reason was because I was looking for another partner and by doing so my hand was forced on a land bridge where the countries involved were not asked yet and resulted in Sweden and Norway not very happy with the situation. The option of AS was still on the table but costly and could have been avoided. Talks with Russia were successful and right until the last two days when it became too close to the election we could have gone in and start the TW. simust2 and I decided it was left too late in the term and we would pick up talks after the election.

money spent

Yes, I spend a fair bit of money this month. I have gotten the approval to use states money to fill up the energy bar for a possible airstrike. The overall cost was far lower than the 400K asked.
Huey will give you a more details in his report but as far as I see it we spend £187,118.41 on buying food and £70,000 on MPPs. We didn’t go through with it so we lost no money on protection pacts.

I am a bit disappointed that I couldn’t spend even more money that would have gone directly into players accounts. Maybe I had to have a more hands-on approach and contact players myself about the possibilities of helping them ahead with their factories. Being it a loan or even donation of money to get their factories moved to the bonus regions. I suggested it one or two times both the response was nihil bar from the opposition so I buried the idea again. It felt like if the players in question don’t take action themselves and come forward the Gov doesn’t need to hold their hand. Guess I am not that good of a person after all.
Same goes for the idea for extra money for moving cost when following call of arms. The inactivity of the MUs and soldiers throughout the UK is horrible.

I blame mostly myself for lacking the energy to inspire enough enthusiasm for any of these ideas. The future CP may be able to do more. I certainly hope so. Donating another 400K for making Wayne dictator again isn’t going to help the country as a whole.

cabinet

I sincerely want to thank my MoD team Rory and Bamber for being there for me and the country the whole month. It is commendable that they kept up the effort even when it was really clear the country is in a deep sleep. Same thanks to the ever wonderful and dependable Huey.

Not going to write much about what happened to the rest of my cabinet. At the end of the day I did survive without them. It would have been nice to have some more people around with good ideas and energy to back me up but it is all water under the bridge now.

Special thanks to Pauly for keeping up post in Orion. One of my better decisions for keeping this cat around.

Resting me to say, congratulation Roachford! I will try to be a good MoFa in your cabinet and to all my friends around the world; the UK may have been dormant it is still a Nation that has more potential that it is given credit for.

Hail UK!
