[TUP] And he would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for that damn kid

Day 1,092, 09:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Unity Party

Dear friends,
I'm writing this article to you today as the newly elected leader of The Unity Party. I'd like to thank everyone that voted for me for helping me achieve the position and to Maddog for making the day a lot more exciting! I feel the fact that we had two strong candidates was a positive for the party, despite the fact there was no visible election button hammered turnout. Anyway, it's best not to let the momentum die so things are going to get going very quickly.

Firstly I'd like to introduce my Vice Party President Sir Mic. Many of you will know him through his great work in both the military and in politics and know how reliable and trustworthy he is. Sir Mic is someone who has plenty of experience but is fresh and new to party command, so hopefully through his hard work he might one day become party leader!

I'd also like to introduce you to someone you might not of heard of, smithersone. He's a fantastic and active new player who first came to my attention last month when he was forum active and looking desperately to get a seat for congress. I offered him my spot and introduced him to irc, hoping he would excel and he hasn't disappointed. Smithersone will be the new Retention Officer, a post that aims to bring new players on to the forums and keep them there.

To wider party issues, members should be receiving messages very shortly about the party census. Simply a few questions about activity, this will help us build up our database and allow us to target our active players and perhaps not but as much emphasis on those that are inactive. If you could fill that in it would be brilliant and would help us a lot.

Over the next few days TUfP and the Welcome Basket scheme will be relaunched with an article promoting them, and advertisements will be restarted to tell new players about the help they can receive. Asher will be continuing running our companies as he has done a brilliant job over the past few months and I will be working closely with him to provide food and weapons to new players. This is at the core of what TUP stands for and I am glad we can bring it back to the centre of our operations.

On the media front, I will be aiming to nearly always have an article in the top 5. If any TUP member would like to write an article for the org/has an idea for an article please get in touch with me and we can make it happen. There is a huge wealth of talent within TUP that is at the moment not getting the attention it deserves. Over the next few days I'll be compiling a list of united party orgs to vote up articles and bring them to the attention of the general public.

This month is all about recruitment and getting new players involved in the game and party. We will be launching several recruitment campaigns and aim to bring forum participation to the attention of the general population. TUP fully supports strong and inclusive government and will encourage all members to get engaged in government, it helps to retain players and boosts activity.

Once again, thank you for supporting me. We have constantly shown that we are the biggest and the best party within the UK. With great policies, a whole host of charismatic and hard working individuals and the spirit of hundreds of players behind us we can only continue to excel.

Cheers,
IndieKid
