[TTH] Government Support?

Day 2,555, 07:22 Published in USA USA by Franklin Stone

As a last tribute, some reading music from Jude Connors

Before we begin I wish to state here and now that I DO NOT speak for Easy Company Militia, nor I suppose do I speak for the Majority of the We The People Leadership; but what both these communities have in common is the freedom for citizens to express themselves. I speak only as a 'pop gun' America Soldier of no consequence, I speak only as a 'insignificant' but loyal American; I speak only as someone who believes in America First.

When I joined this game in 2009 my hopes were high that a role playing game actually worth playing had arrived, pretty sure most will not disagree with the fact that eRepublik could have been a great game; the blame for the loss of citizens can be hung around the neck of several groups and all of them would be deserving -however our toxic Congressional Forums IMO rates #1. eRepublik is a social game, a social game where there is no media and no real communications from the 'eUSA Government' -think tax increase discussion, proposal and vote held in private; a social game where the most powerful 'group of Pfriends' control Congress by smashing any 'socialization' under the heel of a hob nailed jack boot. Now I want to say right away that for eRepublik to be successful as a game it's citizens MUST take part, they must in this digital world suspend reality and not be the nerd living in her/his mother's basement; become that valiant heroic persona -that on screen Avatar that many claim doesn't necessarily represent them or their belief.

My gaming experience comes from the world of paper, pencils and movable hexagonal terrain maps to fight imaginary combat in zero gravity; or more familiar to most they are used to settle combat between you and that troll in the dungeon. My days of sitting across from Ziggy, in her purple horned dungeon master helmet -which during football season filled in as a Vikings Helmet- perched upon her red haired head; dueling it out in her newest most improved space sector. With the pencil and paper games you had to suspend any belief in the real world, you had to see in your mind's eye that the fat red headed kid across from you wasn't your backyard neighbor and school chum, but 'Dame Zig Zag IV, Duchess of the Nine Sectors'. The point here is that back then I sat across from Ziggy, that is a far cry from the cold impersonal screens behind which we all hide and I had other ways of judging if what she said was honest and truthful; in a social game such as eRepublik the only way to judge others is through their own words and actions.

In many ways the skeleton of eRepublik Rules on which the 'metagame' was constructed and is now played by many on the eUSA Forums reminds me of those games, I see Ziggy's face every time Plato twitches the rules or has servers that move like snails; I just wanna reach out and slap her helmet off. My belief is and has always been eRepublik is being played, just not in game; currently the 'eUSA Government' -elected by a mere 24% vote of the current American population- is represented by 'Congressional Forums' hosted on the 'paid for' eUSA Forums. Presidential Elections were held the other day and America has a 'new' President who has 6 terms of experience, a 'new' President who for all intents and purposes was elected days ago by the Top 5 Political Parties in a show of 'Unity' in America -not that I object to Oblige as President, but shouldn't those Party Primaries simply be eliminated and the elections actually held openly in game? At election time America had a population of 3193, up by 20 new citizens, on election day America had 3188 citizens (up from Congressional Election time) of which 768 voted, that is 24% of our voting population, so first of all...

'Shame on you America! Get out and vote!'.

Jude Connors, onward through the fog!

When this whole mess started I took it as joke, it was obvious Jude Connors was NOT going to win the USWP; how all this blew up I don't know nor care -it simply makes me wonder just how secure this Top 5 party really is? During the most recent Party President election a friend and fellow tin hatter Jude Connors orchestrated a protest against a Top 5 party and the citizen running for Party President, by running against him in 'his' own party. Since I am a 'insignificant' citizen, I have no idea what happened behind the scenes; I will say this, 'I know both citizens and the one I believe the most is Jude Connors.' When I came into work in a Easy Company Commune, I noticed a blurb on the 'Friends Bulletin Board' and had a good laugh; so as my own protest against this same citizen I posted this, 'Vote Jude for USWP PP!!! Cause a Vote for Jude is a Vote Against Pfeiffer \o/'. Well. You can see what happened.

Accusations flew back and forth, the party accused Jude of MMing party members asking for their votes; Jude hurled accusations of a Real Life and gaming friend being blackmailed with their leadership position within the party. Again as an 'insignificant' citizen I know not what went on behind the scene in the 'back rooms' and since I must judge the situation by what I do know, I believe Jude. Everyone in this game knows both these citizens and everyone knows this citizen, using your own personal knowledge of all of them and what has gone down who do you believe? I believe, Jude. When even long time citizens such as Artela leave, something is wrong with the community.

Some very disconcerting news has come to my attention, something I would not have believed had I not been informed by someone I have great respect for and the accused citizens own admission to the crime; it has really let some wind from my sails. It is apparent real life information was sought by a citizen and then used in this game against another citizen. From where I stand that is a completely unacceptable crime. I respected Jude Connors for his 'foil hattery', unfortunately he has done something which I in no way agree with; nor can I condone it so it is with sadness that I support his ban from the eUSA Forums -something that leaves a bitter taste. Though I still believe what Jude has said, though I applaud his honesty of owning what he has done; the ban is righteous and I wish him well in the United Kingdom.

Just as one final edit because I wish to point out that American Citizens and members of eUSA Forums have 'in essences' been forbidden to even discuss these recent events, forget for a moment that Jude Connors is involved; when a citizen of Artela's stature is leaving the game and Americans have been 'verboten' to even speak of it in the American Congress -there is something very wrong with our community.

Awhile back I read the article 649 by Aramec, here is someone who gets it. Many prominent Americans bemoan the fact that the game is dying, yet they do absolutely nothing to change the situation; or worse condone a toxic and abusive atmosphere by not speaking out against such behavior. Worse though is the fact America has allowed the American Congress to be housed on a forum paid for and controlled by a group of pfriends loyal to each other, nothing wrong with that loyalty unless they are not loyal to America; the problem is they seemingly do not wish to grow even their own very well constructed role playing adventure, while through Meta Congress and < 25% of America's voting power controls the whole enchilada and drives citizens away.

On day 2544 Henry Pfeiffer Arundel announced his intentions to run for President in the article [Pfeiffer] USWP - The All-Father awakens, the citizen who dislikes roleplaying now wishes to pretend he is a mythological god; the same citizen who claims this game sucks and is dying -yet he wishes to be President? This is the citizen who used 'Unity' to trick his way into the Presidency, then walked out the door of the White House and defected to the enemy. While America was wiped he became a Party President, a 2 time Congress Member and a Foreign Affairs Adviser for the enemy; pretty sure he also made a butt load of cash -at the expense of American citizens. Now some will complain that I am using past events to judge this citizen, yet it is he and his 'loyal pfriends' who continue to use the past history of whole units of our Military against them and calling them 'unreliable', 'untrustworthy', 'suspect' and 'disloyal'; they use accusations of infrastructure theft against a Top 5 Party, accusations that were admitted to and settled with Congress by the payment for said infrastructure; a deal accepted by Congress months ago.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I see all the forums used by the citizens of eRepublik as a Community; most all of us have Forum Personas over many such forums. Just a short list of where I have accounts, Federalist Party, America Military Party, The Black Sheep, and the Socialist Freedom Party. Now I do not frequent most of those and some are thanking their gods I don't, but what we are talking about here is etiquette; simple human kindness and common courtesy. I also believe that to become a powerful political party or military unit, you must have you own forum; just look at the Top 5 parties and see who has their own and who doesn't and compare their Congressional Influence.

This is the citizen who on the eUSA Forums opened the thread Spoilering articles complaiing about articles that did not use spoilers, then on the Easy Company Militia Forums he opens the thread [Pfeiffer] USWP - The All-Father awakens; without spoilers and huge pictures -almost like a child throwing themselves to the ground. Seems very hypocritical for a citizen to complain on one forum about 'spoilering articles' and then on another forum do the very thing he complained about. This is not about forum rules, it is about common courtesy and civility; it has to do with acting like a human being. This is the same guy who made 'fun' of an ally with a meme -really stirred the shit if I remember right- and who currently has this in his signature line; this is a citizen who now wishes to influence American Foreign Policy after having done the same for the enemy. Wait? What?

I have made political hay out of loyalty, duty to country and the strength and honor to stand by what Jethro Gibbs calls 'Rules'. The one thing I will give this loyal group of pfriends is they have done a bang up job of creating a world with in a world, someone in this group understands the adventure concept and would have made a 'Dungeon Master' the equal of Ziggy; sold it very well and I am sure that for those pfriends it has been very profitable. Being in favor of a United America does not mean that citizens must be in lockstep, it does not mean Americans can not disagree; it does mean that as an American Citizen your first Duty is to fight per orders in defense of America -even if like me you are only an 'insignificant pop gun who delivers little damage to a battlefield'. Use your own personal knowledge of these events and make you own decisions, if -like myself- you are not privy to the 'back room' skinny; count your blessings that your soul is still intact...
